Arena and Challenges quests are ONLY found within the Gathering Hub at the Quest Counter. The Arena Lass (NPC on your left) will give you a choice between Arena and Challenges. Both of these quest types are 'time attack' quests with Ranks A, B, and C depending on the completion time. The quests must be completed with one of five predetermined, specific equipment sets. Time records for the selected weapon are recorded and ranked globally. Most of the quests will reward the player with special Arena Coins depending on monster(s) hunted.
All the quests allow a maximum of two players, and even if played solo the monsters are all scaled for multiplayer.
Most of the quests take place in the arena, a handful in the special arena, and one in the Ancient Forest
Note about Coins

- The coins listed under Special Rewards for both Arena and Challenges are POSSIBLE rewards, but not guaranteed. Usually the higher you rank, the more coins given on completion, though with RNG even a Rank A finishing could give you none.
- Generally, Pinnacle Coins are rewarded for Low Rank (LR) quests.
- Hunter King Coins are from High Rank (HR) level 6 and 7 quests, though there are a few level 8 quests in Challenges that will drop these too.
- Ace Hunter Coins are from HR 8 and 9 quest with the exceptions for a few HR 8 as stated above.
MHW Arena
Arena quests are unlocked through completing specific Optional quests that align with the same monster(s) to be fought in the arena, and once unlocked they are permanently available to the player through the Arena Lass. These quests mostly award Arena Coins, consumables, various Eggs, and meal vouchers. After completing 01-07 Arena Quests with Rank B or better you will be rewarded with the Pulverizing Feather; completing Arena Quests 08 and 09 with Rank B or better you will receive the Dragonseal Earrings which provide you with the coveted Elderseal skill. Both items are head armor and neither needs to be crafted, they will be placed directly into your armor inventory. There is no known reward for getting Rank A in all the Arena matches, other than the pride one receives from a job well done.
Rank C completion times are all 50'00"00.

Should be a note somewhere on this page that mentions SoS flares are disabled for these hunts.
I refuse to use other weapons so arena quests are not for me :p

now if only there was info on how to unlock specific arena quests and what not...
- Anonymous
What is the arena quest for both tigrex and brute tigrex and what does it give you
- Anonymous
If you do Master Rank Arenas 06 & 07 with a B or better you get awarded Showman's Earrings a+. The Earrings have a provoker skill you can't find anywhere else. That pretty much aggress the monster on you. Good for Lance builds in multiplayer!
- Anonymous
I unlocked the Dragonseal earrings by just doing Arena 8 & 9.

Arena Quests 08&09 seem to be unlocked through doing the Affinity Booster questline to completion.
- Anonymous
I can confirm you get the dragonseal earring that ups the elderseal effect by one level
- Anonymous
Why does this wiki mention nothing about the dragonseal earring. Or am I just blind?
"scaled for multiplayer" is terribly misleading and confusing.
it should read "scaled as if multiplayer".
