Blight Resistance is a Skill in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
Blight Resistance Effect
Blight Resistance is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
Level 1: Reduces the duration of all elemental blights by 50% (value changed in patch 6.02)- Level 2: Reduces the duration of all elemental blights by 75% (value changed in patch 6.02)
- Level 3: Nullifies all elemental blights
This Skill prevents Elemental Blights such as Fireblight, Waterblight, Thunderblight, Iceblight, Dragonblight.
Does NOT prevent Status Ailments such as Effluvia (Miasma), Defense Down, Poison, Stun, Paralysis, Bleeding, Blastblight, Sleep)
Equipment that grants Blight Resistance
You can increase the level of Blight Resistance by equipping the following items.
- Xeno'jiiva Hide Alpha (x1)
- Tentacle Cloak Alpha + (x2)
- Tentacle Cloak Beta + (x1)
- Demonlord Cloak Alpha + (x3)
- Safi Crested Chest Alpha + (x2)
- Safi Crested Chest Beta + (x1)
- Kirin Hoop Alpha (x1)
- Kirin Hoop Beta (x1)
- Xeno'jiiva Spine Alpha (x2)
- Xeno'jiiva Spine Beta (x2)
- Artemis Coil Alpha + (x2)
- Kirin Hoop Alpha + (x2)
- Kirin Hoop Beta + (x2)
- Blight Charm I (x1)
- Blight Charm II (x2)
- Blight Charm III (x3)

how long do blights last? pretty important information needed to know if a 75% reduction is 1 second or 100 seconds

Guys it only protects against fire, water, thunder, dragon and ice. It doesn’t protect against miasma, blast, sleep, paralysis, stun and Defense down.

This thing doesn't work for*****. Just got 3 different blights in an arena quest. It *****in' sucks, suckin' *****s and I dont like it.

Skill is mostly useless except for maybe on multi-hunts. If your elemental resistance is above 20 you become immune to that elements blight anyways, plus take less damage. So if you're fighting something like Kirin, it's better to just slot in Thunder Res.

Instead of relying on this skill, better use null-berry when inflict with any blight.

Well I found out the hard way it doesn't protect against Miasma, so exactly which status effects can it prevent and which can't it? Is there any official list just for reference? Thought resistor was a good catch all, but could have just put miasma decorations in their place when fighting val. The thing is you need to know which monsters it will work against before going into the hunt.

It protects you from.. Being set on fire, blast blight and the electro debuff that means you get stunned easier too.. It really just gives you less to worry about when fighting monsters.

Elemental Blight is different than Abnormal Status effects like stun. Blights build up when they hit you with elemental attacks making it easier for you to be stunned (lightning blight makes it so you get stunned easier) and another example is when you are fighting the Barroth in the Wildspire Wastes and you end up in the mud (making your stamina bar blue and reduced) the mud effect is a blight.
In Kirin fight, the electrocution damage still hurts you but you wont get the electro debuff making it easier to stun you. If you get stunned with level 3 blight resistance (immunity) its because the monster actually did stun you.

I made the Xeno set, and have level 3 blight resistance, and thought it would negate all elemental blights... like it says. But it definitely doesn't work against Kirin. I still get electrocuted and roll then get trampled. This skill sucks. They should be more specific about what it actually does, which is jack*****.

Xeno Spine beta does not give blight resistance (at least by looking on the Xeno beta armor set page. I haven't unlocked it yet to confirm)
Very usefull for lance and gunlance gameplay where you can't roll to put out the fireblight with your weapon unsheathed, and where sheathing your weapon takes time and can be dangerous.
Also preventing iceblight and waterblight is very important for these weapons because most of your damage negation comes from blocking, and you absolutely need stamina for that.
Resisting thunderblight can't hurt, especialy if you don't have Stun Resistance.
And dragonblight is a strait damage loss to any build using an elemental weapon.
Amazing IMO for a lvl 3 skill with decorations quite easy to obtain.
