 Trivia

  • Unlike other Charge Blades, this weapon possesses no visible shield, a magical glyph forming around the Hunter's wrist instead will appear when unsheathed that will enlarge and cover the hand when it blocks an attack.
  • Dante's Devil Sword is actually an amalgamation of three different Devil Arms from the original Devil May Cry:
    • The sword and shield form is Force Edge, Dante's starting weapon and a heirloom of Sparda, his father.
    • The axe form is Alastor, a lightning-elemental greatsword possessed by a demon that served as an upgrade to the former
    • And finally Ifrit, only seen during the Shield Thrust attack, where it materializes on the Hunter's hand surrounded by a fiery aura briefly for the attack, reflecting its appearance in the original game as a flaming set of gauntlets.
    • The magical glyph itself resembles the ones used by Dante as a midair platform to double jump.
  • If looked at closely, the Hunter will be briefly surrounded by a red magical ring during certain moves, such as dodging. These rings actually indicate Guard Points, making this Charge Blade a good choice for learning this mechanic.

    • It's cool and all, but why doesn't it turn into the Sparda in axe form? Sparda is closer to an axe than Alastor, especially in scythe form, along with actually being a transformed Force Edge.

I know I'm very late to this. but one known item needed for the upgrade is *Large Elder Dragon Gem*. Which you get from obviously Elder Dragons, on Master Rank. The other items i don't know, hope this helps all.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned, and that I found a very nice touch when I first saw it is that when you use the Shield Thrust attack you can see Ifrit materialize on the Hunter's arm for the attack. The attention to detail in the weapon is just lovely. It's the sole reason I want to use Charge Blade, it's just too cool.

it has a visual effect on each Occasion were a block section is included in the Combo, perfects for stunblocks

Best charge blade so far, you can either give it elemental gems for more lightning dmg or go the KO route and is still OP as hell w/e one you pick

Am I the only one running into problems when I try to charge the blade? I do the whole vial buildup, then charge the shield just fine, but when I build up more vials I can't seem to charge the blade itself. Is that a bug or am I just missing the timing, because I swear it does an animation as if to charge the blade, but the sword icon doesn't light up.
