Fainting is a combat and game mechanic in Monster Hunter World. Rather than die, the player that has failed a Hunt will faint due to fatigue - be it from landscape Hazards or from taking damage from Monsters.

Most Quests have a Faint Limit that will fail the quest if the player faints a certain amount of times.
