The Hunter Runestone is a Pouch Item in Monster Hunter World (MHW). This is an infinite use item similar to the Witcher Geralt's Igni Sign, allowing a Hunter to spray fire in front of them and deal Fire Damage.

 

To the Hunter of Astera. An otherwordly stone gifted by Geralt. Depicts a magic sign for controlling fire.

Hunters can bring the Runestone to the field in their Item Pouch, or use a special gesture "The Witcher 3: Flame Manipulation," which is obtained along with the Runestone itself.

When used from the Item Bar, the Runestone emits a short-range blast of fire in front of the Hunter. Damage is minimal, but the ability serves as a useful tool when facing the Leshen and Ancient Leshen, as it can free Allies from entangling roots and stagger the Monster. This ability has a cooldown of 50 seconds when used in combat.

 

How to Acquire the Hunter Runestone

This special item was added with Patch 6.0 as part of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt collaboration event. It can be obtained by completing the Special Assignment Contract: Trouble in the Ancient Forest.
