Fighting this guy (and ebony odogaron) with a insect glaive can be a real pain. Nothing like trying to get all your kinsect essences while this crackhead has the zoomies and WON'T SIT STILL FOR EVEN A SECOND! Frustrating, but rewarding in the end when you finally beat him.

WHY THE FREAKING HECK ARE THE DUAL BLADES AXES WITH NARGA PARTS ON THEM!!!’ WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER ONES!?!!? Seriously guys this is a tragedy! They also jacked up the Greatsword! At least they didn’t mess up the Longsword. Uh

Shouldn't there be a tip here about Screamer Pods/Sonic bombs? Like throwing them at Narga that's not enraged will flinch it and enrages it too, but throwing it while not enraged and on its pouncing pose will actually trip it

my most enjoyable fight with bow. least tolerable with hammer. barioth was the other way around. bruh.

I expected to get destroyed by this caffeine addict but somehow he kept missing me with everything when I stood close to him

if nargacuga is weak to fire and not immune to poison, how does it be equal to ratholas? Also why the hell does it have fishnet on the armour? It could also fight/turf war with tigrex, That would be cool.
- Anonymous
Thanks for the muscle memory built after hundreds of hours hunting narga and tigrex in the MHFU, the hunts were pretty easy. Tigrex was a little bit of a problem though since he's much more bigger compared to the ones in MHFU.

Not sure if my game glitched or something but i was fighting Nargacuga in the ancient forest in the area with all those mushroom platforms to mount monsters from and it seemed to teleport from infront of me to behind tree behind me ( i felt like there was actually two of them for a few seconds ) and it's tail grew back after i severed it earlier plus it restored it's health back to fully fresh so it felt like i was fighting it twice.

Nargacuga was pretty easy,it can barely bleed you and also when it uses its tail too much, might get stuck in the ground so this fight is in your favor. You should know also when to put the trap and tranq bombs if you're thinking to capture. Its weak if it runs way slower and/or,when you get to it,you find out its asleep.Mostly weak to thunder,a shallow moveset, vine traps all around the area to your favor and disposal. This fight is a fun one.

JEBUS i am your friend
tips: so when you fight this monster you want to go for the head first because if you serve the tail the spikes stay on the body you dont git rid of the spikes ever but it does weaken his tail attacks and his tail still can get stuck on his tail slam attack when he does this you attack whatever part is nearest to you every part stayed in the same place the same thing will happen when he is waving his tail around in the air it may seem like an attack but dont let it fool you also when he is enraged dont try to attack it will leave an opening for him to kill you you will know when he is enraged because his eyes and ears glow red ( one more thing he will roar whenever he is about to leave all you need to do is simply dodge it then cluch claw on to him leaving a weak spot on him when you encounter him again ) - the guy who puts in the work to know this but call me Smart Guy

Hello my fellow hunters, mortals seem to be having a problem with this monster so I thought I could shed some light on some forbidden tips. This monster is fast as my dad is on sinners but there are counters to this. If you are good with the Longsword I would recomend using it. If you use the hammer, then the area with the slopes is your friend, you can paralyze him with the toads and Helicopter the sh** out of him. Also if your too slow to hit him, traps are your friends. Use them a lot if you need to. 1 more thing, the clutch claw is also helpful, if you have damage heavy CC attacks (GS, H, HH) you can use those a lot too. Anyway my dads yelling at me to go to bed so good luck my fellow hunters.

So... I came here looking for this thing's elemental weakness *after* beating it once.
Wanna guess what element my dumbass used on this thing on my first blind fight against it?
WATER.
Seriously... I'm just gonna rely on the wiki for the rest of the monsters from here on out.

He is known to be very stealthy and I can't see why? (get it)

Haven't hunted Nargacuga since MHP3rd. I was weird having muscle memory trigger while fighting this beast. :)

I love everything about Nargacuga but I’ve always had one problem with it... Its an ambush predator so most of the time it hunts its prey and takes them by surprise with incredible speed and skill. But when I fight it I always have something like “what if they had incorporated a surprise attack in his hunt?”. Like if its decided to move to another zone but before you get there it decides to hide and wait for you and attack you when you least expect it to. Nargacuga is a very skilled monster also when it comes to fighting one on one, but if only Capcom put in some gameplay mechanics that allowed Narga to make use of its stealth, speed and element of surprise. Again, I love this monster. Everything about it is just so cool. There’s nothing wrong with it. But just thinking about its lore while fighting it gives me the feeling that it could have been even better is a bit...dissapointing to me, if only a little.

Man, in my opinion, this monster is so underwhelming, he looks so cool, but fighting him is a goddamn chore. Especially if you use a heavy weapon like the hammer or gunlance.

My friend was watching the first cutscene with him and when the nargacuga jump out of the trees I remember him say "Woah! WTF! Its batman!"

I have never found this guy, in both places, maybe I just have to get ahead in the story

Bleeding is caused by when he shoots out the tail spikes, its pretty rare that he inflicts it but it happens.

Does he really have the bleeding ailment ? fought him twice now and he didn't inflicted it in any attack

Uses the occasional ice tornado, but that isn't talked about
When are the games going to get around to bringing back the Green Nargacuga (and updating it to be more unique)? Or for that matter, Lucy. It isn't like World has the same excuse Gen / GU have of not adding subspecies (though they were fine with Rare Species and still ignored Lucy)... It feels like forever since I last saw Green Narga in a main MH game (though it got a little love in Stories).

Illogically fast and agile, far too much HP for its size, and busted hit-boxes / collisions: Welcome to Crapcom's Iceborne: Artificial Difficulty Edition.

Tip he's a decent monster to follow round in the guiding lands for tracks, scratches the ground often for 25 points n' lots of footprints, also tends to feed on a Aptonoth or two. ^-^

A speedy boi with lots of tricks up his sleeve to mess with new hunters. Weapons may not be very pretty anymore but that huge chunk of purple sharpness certainly brings a smile to my face.
- Anonymous
Killing him just but trying to cut his tail off dafaq? I've had no problem on mhwu or 4 ultimate, but on here I killed narg by only attacking the tail seriously wtf why the hell isn't it cutting off on mhw?!??!

Those dual blades are ugly af. Honestly, hidden TOMAHAWKS? WE NEED DUAL BLADES, DUAL SWORDS, DUAL DAGGERS, DUAL SHARP FREAKIN FAN FEATHERS. BRING BACK THE OLD DESIGN MY GOD.

All i want to fight is brachydios now that will be a fun fight

Hey bud under the narga combat info. I know w'ere all a little excited for the new update. You accidentally put 2 R's on Returning. =) JQ
So when it comes to this guy he is fast and he hits moderately hard. I highly recommend health boost level three for all of Master Rank. Evade extender really helps against him. Oh and take Astera jerky because his spikes cause bleeding. His mi set is very learnable and can get easy at times but don’t let your guard down. Be warned when he does a little roar he will do a very hard hitting tail slam. If you dodge it you have a big opening because his tail gets stuck in the ground. When he is enraged he will do two of them back to back. If you break his wings (which are very tough) it will knock him down for an opening. You can break both and that will be two knock downs. Generally you don’t have to worry about his spikes unless you are far away. He will run out of them and try to get them back by swirling his tail in the air. This is a big opening for damage. BTW this fight is INCREDIBLE with dual blades. I highly recommend them if you are trying to have fun but that’s me. Take what you want. Well that’s it for now. Hope you have a great day!
