Pierce Ammo is an Ammo type in Monster Hunter World (MHW); it comes in three levels.

When fired from a Bowgun, Pierce Ammo releases a single projectile which travels through a target, dealing Ammo Damage in a rapid chain of damage ticks for as long as it is in contact with the target.

All levels of Pierce Ammo have the following basic properties:

• Damage of each projectile is affected by the Player's Attack Power, Affinity (critical hits,) target multipliers such as monster body parts, and distance to the target. Damage is not directly affected by recoil or a Bowgun's level of Deviation.
• Each piercing tick calculates its own chance of striking a critical hit.
• Low damage falloff - optimal firing range stretches from about three to about eight paces away from a target.
• Some Bowguns can fire Pierce Ammo in rapid-fire or quick-reload modes.

At optimal firing range, the Combo Move multipliers for Pierce Ammo levels 1, 2, and 3 are approximately 6, 7, and 8, respectively. See Attack Power for more information.

Pierce Ammo 1 Description:

Armor-piercing ammo that deals multiple hits to some monsters.

Pierce Ammo 2 Description:

High-grade armor-piercing ammo. Deals more hits that Pierce Ammo 1

Pierce Ammo 3 Description:

Max-grade armor-piercing ammo. Deals numerous hits.

 

How to Acquire Pierce Ammo:

All three levels of Pierce Ammo can be crafted, while only levels 1 and 2 can be bought.

Additionally, Pierce Ammo 1 can often be found in the Supply Box on Quests.
