Silver Rathalos MH World Combat Tips

  • Position: Always keep moving and try to dodge to the side or beneath it to steer clear of the direct front and away from its fireball attacks. Once its starts to fly, get behind it and focus on hitting its legs.
  • Meowlotov Cocktail: If your Palico has a Meowlotov Cocktail that it tosses, make sure to lead the Silver Rathalos to the cocktail for maximum damage.

The Silver Rathalos is one of the more notoriously difficult encounters. It is strong high damage attacks and can have erratic movements in a small space. It is relentless with its fireball attacks that are accompanied by clawing attacks. Its fire blaze attacks cover a long range and can be repeated in combos. You'll want to stick to its side to make sure to steer clear of the path of these attacks. Always quickly dodge to the side or reposition behind it. (being directly below it is dangerous due to its claw attacks)  Its actions are quick and can be difficult to anticipate. Eventually, it also lets out a roar that blasts outwards. You'll need to quickly distance yourself for this part. Focus your attacks on its head to and go aggressive with heavy attack combos to knock it down and earn a bigger window to get more damage in.

Once it starts to fly and charge, roll through its lunges and get a better position for an opening to attack. Wait for its advances and immediately follow up with an attack combo every time for a higher chance at knocking it. Stay behind it and you will force it to continue turning toward you. Don't be afraid to ward toward and underneath it. Continue to circle behind it throughout the fight. Watch its flying pattern when its starts to fly and dodge through when it gets near.
