i dont know if i was lucky or not but after killing countless Hazaks i tried the 9 star event quest "The Deathly Quiet Curtain" and got 4 fangs in 2 quests, both times 1 from carving and 1 as quest rewards.

A running gag with caps farming system is kill a monster 16 times to get 3 pieces of gear. Killing monsters is fun until you've killed one 22 times.

Trust me, just collect Vaal hazak’s footstep in an option quest and farm investigation. Farmed ( in a row with head break and no gang.

This is arguably the hardest thing to get form Vaal hacks and for stupid reasons 1 it’s no guaranteed to drop if you break Vaal hazaks head 2 it’s unbelievabley hard to get I have got more gems than fangs and cmon it has a freaking lower jaw

Why is this part so unnecessarily hard to get. Partbreaker makes it ez to break his head but rly? No chance of getting it in rewards and only 66% chance of getting it for a head break. This is so stupid. HIS FANGS ARE RIGHT THERE JUST TAKE EM

If you’re having trouble with him and you have iceborne, use the hell outta that slinger claw! Grapple onto his face to soften it up and pickup the slinger ammo and grapple back to shoot him into a wall. That plus the hits you’ll get in while he’s down should break it every time

A real pain. Since you have to break it's face two times and it's still 2 stars to get(chances are very low). The biggest problem is it can only be dropped from carving, not the extra rewards when you kill it. Farming requires Partbreaker 3 and a strong hammer with KO jewels, other weapons can also be used as well, JUST AIM FOR THIS F@CKERS HEAD!!!

Took on Vazak 8 times got 6 Fang+ used. Blessing charm 3 and Part breaker gem level 2.

body carve is wrong, 564 fights and never have i gotten a fang from craving. and have only gotten 3 from breaking his head though i have only managed to break his head the last 78 times i fought him.

Just use a HBG with 3 close range ups and Wyvernheart drop one of the tooths from the ceiling and lay into his face until it breaks once it's broken return from the quest and if you do it right optimal run time is under 2:30

His head relatively difficult to break (for me at least) and it almost never shows up as reward and I've only gotten it once from carving and it's generally a pain to get.

RNG on this is unbelievably inept ive killed him 16 times for investigations and have enough of everything to craft every piece of the armor set not requiring Fangs 2-3 times and have yet to get enough fangs to even craft both the chest and gauntlets literally equal number of fangs and gems fing 4 out of 16 attempts (not counting the optional quest encounters i did to get the investigations or the original encounter even)

RE: Fangs. Using HBG Spreadshots and shooting entirely at his face [and nowhere else], even after head breaks + using Legiana 2 piece set [extra rewards] + being on an investigation managed to net me a fang on almost every kill. No clue how a melee user would be able to reliably farm them. It was slow and tedious but I was able to get about 5 per hour.

Best way to break Vaal's head: (must be solo in quest, have palico with Baan ball weapon, and Hunter with very strong hammer) Hunter: attack Vaal's head until palico puts Vaal to sleep. Put mega/large barrel bombs by it's head and detonate them until you run out and have a chance to get more of just keep attacking Vaal's head until it breaks. By doing this you will have a somewhat high chance to get 1 or more fangs.

After 999999 battles with this monster, i got more gems and 0 fangs. This is so good.

It would seem that the fangs can drop as a bonus reward for breaking the head in the main story version of this quest, since i just got one as a reward.

I've had minimal problems with this game, but this monster is a real b****. Not that difficult to farm, granted, but the fang+ drop rate is abysmal. 8% on a body carve, not given as a reward, and breaking its head isn't even a guarantee, not to mention the fact that armor and weapons that require the fang+ use it like it's a common ore. Now I don't mind farming for parts, because I've played games like this before, but there needs to be some changes here.

So am I only one who feels they should put his fangs in the reward system. I’m sitting at 127 kills on him for the moment and that’s mostly from investigations. Now them I’ve done the math and I’ve gotten 49 gems from all of that, while from all those kills I’ve only ever gotten 7 fangs. Now then what’s funny is that I’m 100% positive I’ve gotten all those fangs as investigation rewards. I’ve never got one from breaking his face, nor have I gotten one from carving. Now I mentioned my gem drop number earlier, the reason I listed that number was because of the rarity it’s supposed to drop at. The gem has a one star rarity making it the hardest to obtain Val drop, while the fangs are two star rarity. I may be wrong here but shouldn’t that mean I’m twice as likely to obtain fangs over gems, and yet I have gotten 7x more gems than fangs. Oh and I’ve carved gems never done that with a fang. All I’m saying is that I feel cheated right now due to this especially once I added up all the numbers of those drops, I even went through gear I’d already crafted and took those materials into account. I get I can always say Rngesus hates me but this is possibly the most extreme I’ve ever seen it be.

I may be wrong but i think you may have to double break the head. I just did an attempt and it looks like the skin/veil he has on his face has to go before you can break for the fang.
