Yian Garuga Combat Info
- Kinsect Extracts:
- Red: Head/Neck
- Orange: Body/Tail
- White: Legs/Wings
- Enraged mode: ??
- If you have the Ancient Forest on lvl 6 or higher, luring a Yian Garuga will result in spawning a Tempered Scarred Yian Garuga.
- Its wings are extremely tough and make most weapons bounce, tenderize them if you want to break them.
- It becomes immune to Pitfall Traps and destroys them when enraged.
- If you are a veteran player, don't be fooled by its fireball attack, they updated it and it now rapid fires many projectiles in a wide area.
- Slow it by breaking body parts or baiting out its stamina-intensive beak attacks. Breakable Parts:
- Head/Neck
- Body
- Left Leg
- Right Leg
- Left Wing
- Right Wing
- Tail
- Both its head and ears are breakable, so don't stop attacking its head area until you see two parts broken, if
you need those materials. - The arena fight is scaled for two players, so avoid facing him alone unless you wish to impose that kind of challenge on yourself.
This fight may be scary for first timers as the monster is particularly aggressive and will do its attacks seemingly non-stop, the key to the fight is to identify the attacks that make him vulnerable like whis head plunge attack (be careful with this attack in particular since it deals the heaviest damage of its kit) and exploit them for maximum damage. You need to be constantly on alert and get damage in whenever possible. Be sure to hit its head as often as possible, since he is quite weak to stunning. You can deny its roars with Earplugs at level 5 and be sure to bring some Antidotes to deal with its poison. In essence, cautious manoeuvring, constant vigilance, and strategic exploitation of opportunities are essential to win in this encounter.

I carved two fey wyvern gems and got a third from the rewards of one kill
But I just can’t manage to break the wings for incessant wolf :(

When I first saw this thing I thought OH COME ON NOT YOU!! (I played Mhfu) but he was surprisingly very easy. Or at least compared to mhfu. I still never fought the thing again. To many painful memories from him…

i think "return of the crazy one" is the only master rank quest with normal jho
- Anonymous
There’s another mission they appear in called “I am tranquil, I am sound” or something close to that.
I seriously hate this thing so much. It's just a painfully unfun fight with irritating mechanics.

Kut-ku is back but he's back with a side of adultery with a Rathian

By the time you can encounter Yian Garuga it is honestly laughable. By far the easiest of the post launch monsters but if you are struggling go in for the tail cut early as it will take away the poison and also weaken quite a few of its attacks.

He was hard the first time a met him with the poison back flips and everything but once you cut of that tail it will be so much more easier. He doesn't to poison anymore and his range has shortened! So I suggest to for the tail until you cut it off.

I finished furious rajang, I finished raging Brachy, and still haven't got his quest! I was so excited when the tracker gave me the special asiggnment but I thought that was for Yian Garuga but it was of stygian which don't get me wrong he is a very cool variant of zinogre but I really want to fight him. I also heard he can hold his own against devilijho which got me excited

this guy tempered just about oneshots you with everything he does

I love this thing it looks cool. Good weapons and armor (especially the long sword) and is weak to blast giving that element a use again. Just get your ragging brachydios or regular brachydios weapons ready to kill him. Thats all i can say or
- Anonymous
just check nearly all the weapon designs (even in prev ver.), if they did limit the weapons, why would stay at the bone/ore treatment, but its a great that they kind of added the layered edition.

Not sure wtf is going on with this monster, but apparently max guard and guard up do nothing and he can just one-shot you whenever he so pleases.

4 weapons that have "full form"... I'm *****ing dossapointed and sadshield. For how this monster looks in mhw. I expected to have the same treatment like zinogre. But no. Crazy (haha) good fight. Lame rewards...

"It is theorized that Yian Garuga might be the result of a Yian Kut-Ku and a Rathian crossbreeding" Please take this down. The whole Garuga = Kutku + Rathian is meme made by the community and not something that has been confirmed by official guides, except you have citation to support your claim.
