Critical Status is a Skill in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
Critical Status Effect
Critical Status has only 1 level:
Level 1: Increases abnormal status effect damage (Paralysis, Poison, Sleep, Blast) when landing critical hits
Grants an additional status buildup of 20% on critical hits. For Greatsword, Hammer, Hunting Horn and Heavy Bowgun the buildup bonus is 40% instead.
For melee weapons and blast element bows, the status has to actually proc on the critical hit for the bonus to be applied, while it is always applied on status ammo/coatings as long as you are landing critical hits.

Equipment that grants Critical Status
Critical Status is a bonus skill obtained by
- Zorah Magdaros Mastery: Equipping any 3 pieces of Zorah Alpha Armor Set, Zorah Beta Armor Set or Zorah Gamma Armor Set
- Any Kjarr Weapons gained from "The Fury of El Dorado" siege or from melding Incandescent Weapons with Kjaar Melding that has an ailment on them
- Ancient Divinity: Equipping any 2 pieces of Artian Alpha + Armor Set or Artian Beta + Armor Set

Somebody's got to update this saying that it comes from the kjarr insect glaive as well.

From what I have tested and heard from others, Critical Status works like so, the more critical hits you can land, the more often your status effects will proc, so far that seems to be how the effect is intended, as the in-game description seems to be inaccurate. I've seen maybe 2-3 more Blast procs knowing this now, along with 2 more paralysis procs on Deviljho and Bazel.

So a good skill is blocked behind having three pieces of mediocre armor for anything that isn't blast. If the armor itself had anything that helped with critical hit boosts then this set combo would be amazing! If this set bonus was on the rathian armor then I'd be so down to use it!

The multiplier is *1.25 blast detonation damage. If you have max blast skill, instead of doing 120 like normal, you will instead deal 150. Tried and tested.

used this with blast to destroy velkhana. use the artian head and artian braces if you need free elem
