  • Pink Rathians armor is much tougher in certain areas. Her back, neck, and first half of her tail are very tough and only the highest sharpness can penetrate it.
  • When Pink Rathian uses her tail flip, she can tilt it slightly to the left and right, making it a little harder to avoid. She will also fly towards her target and perform a tail flip sometimes. Lastly, she is much more likely to perform extra tail flips in a row than the standard Rathian.
  • Pink Rathian can follow up her short range bite with a second bite where she lunges forward. She cannot use this second bite while exhausted.

MHW Pink Rathian Attacks and Moveset

Pink Rathian performs the following moves:

  • Poison Tail Swipe: Pink Rathian swings its tail in a sweeping motion, creating a wide arc of poison. Timing dodges or using Poison Resistance is crucial to avoid being afflicted with poison.
  • Fireball Spit: Pink Rathian spits fireballs at hunters from a distance. Evading or finding cover is essential to avoid getting hit by these fiery projectiles.
  • Charge Attack: Pink Rathian charges at hunters with remarkable speed, attempting to trample them. Evading or using terrain effectively is necessary to avoid getting hit by this charging attack.
  • Poison Stinger: Pink Rathian stabs forward with its poisonous tail, attempting to inflict hunters with poison. Dodging or blocking effectively is crucial to avoid the poison status.
  • Tail Flip: Pink Rathian performs a quick flip, swinging its tail in an upward motion. Staying clear of the tail flip area is essential to prevent being knocked back or taking damage.
  • Bite Combo: Pink Rathian executes a series of biting attacks with its sharp fangs. Hunters need to be prepared to dodge or block these quick and successive attacks.
  • Airborne Charge: Pink Rathian charges at hunters while airborne, attempting to trample them. Evading or using terrain effectively is necessary to avoid getting hit by this charging aerial attack.

  • Airborne Fireball Dive: Pink Rathian takes to the air and performs a dive, releasing fireballs upon descent. Evading to the side or finding cover is crucial to avoid getting hit by this aerial assault.

When I fought it after hitting its head with a hammer enough it started to spaz out and attack the air away from me. That could help someone beat it.

I just thing the creators just gave up trying to make new monsters so they just took normal ones and just made them a little bit different

        • Anonymous

So I killed dis thing... I went and killed another one and then before I could carve it a DEVILGERO attacked me

I'm on the ??? rathian quest now, I'm assuming this is the monster for that quest. Any recommendations before going in? Or can I just treat it like a slightly harder rathian?

            • Anonymous

Pink Rathian's guild card titles at 20-30-40 Hunts are "Cherry Blossom", "Valkyrie", "Queen". I haven't hit 50 hunts yet. Normal HR P.Rathian the tail is fairly easy to sever with the 30 Slicing ammo without Partbreaker. Tempered though, better bring a full stack of Slashberries to make more ammo. Eventually I just gave up on tail severing and told my palico to just deal with it.

When people complain about some monster that i thought was easy and they think it was IMPOSSIBLE to beat and then ramble om about how easy THE PINK RATHIAN is (which i think is hard) i feel like i am doing something wrong

                • Anonymous

One thing I've found interesting is that after I captured it it showed up on the capture deck like usual. However, after capturing multiple other monsters the Pink Rathian is still there. The Rathian isn't even animated anymore, it's not moving. It just sits there and I can't see any other monsters I've captured.

Yeah, i would say the same if it wasn't baiting every betalgeuse and deviljo there is. It runs way too much.

I play Insect Glaive, nothing in this game is difficult for me. Except Anjanath. He can knock me out of the air. He scares me.

I came in unprepared, but still soloed her. She is very telegraphed in her attacks. Just take the tail and it's over.

If you find this things damage op. Drink mega armorskin. It lasts till you faint. Meals also. Element resist up. Or defense up. Will stack w armorskin. A max potion/having 150 hp helps. Farm high rank odogaron or rath gear. Good fire and physical defense, if it's expedition, you have unlimited lives.

when i was searching through the sos flares list all that came up on the assignments quests where the same one for the pink rathian. i dont know if they were having trouble fighting it or if that is where most people are in the game but when i battled it i won first try. It confused me so much.

As someone else has said, Priority starts to become a thing with monsters now. You need to get rid of that tail asap. Focus everything on it, to do this, use flash pods and environmental aid to give yourself openings. Once the tails is out, focus the wings if you're using a ranged weapon, the head if you're melee. Be patient and wait for your openings, the fight will become fairly straight-forward.

I went into this unprepared to just get a feel for what the fight would be like before I tried it for real. I used mostly low rank armor, a blast weapon, and rarely utilized the maps traps and still solo'd it...it took 40 minutes though. I used one flash pod. If i'd have played with decent armor and a dragon weapon, I'd have beat him in 15 minutes by myself.

Pink Rathians even the tempered ones are very easy fights, maybe go upgrade your gear a little bit and then come back for it.

                                  • Anonymous

First, you need some decent defense stats. Enough so that his shuffle/charge only does 25% damage, at most. That way you can survive some of the bad luck combos.

He has a few simple attacks. A double right/left chomp (this attack leaves little opportunity to counter, and often chains to something else). A straight fireball that can hit extremely long distances. A 3 shot fireball (middle, right, left). A swinging tail (only when you're in melee and behind him). A flying tail swing that can poison you (sever the tail). A flying dash that will land behind you. The flying tail attack is followed either by landing, or by the flying dash. The dash always finishes on the ground.

There are 2 attack paths. First you want to sever the tail. This means waiting until all his attacks finish their animation, quickly striking and then leaving before he can swing his tail. His head is extremely vulnerable during the fireball attacks that are going to target your palico/teammates.

It's also a good idea to use the available resources on the terrain - sleeptoads and flashbugs are easy targets with a slinger and give awesome damage opportunities.

Worst monster yet. Dumb mechanics, huge aoe moves, ranged attacks, flames, and poison. And One hit will take 50% of your health with a health boost of +50. Yup dumb ****
