Rathian is a Large Monster in Monster Hunter World (MHW). リオレイア (雌火竜) in Japanese. A variation of this monster can be found in the Pink Rathian page

Terrestrial predator, it overpowers its prey with a venomous tail and powerful legs.
Rathian Details & Locations
Rathian, the Queen of the Land, is a medium-sized true flying wyvern, sharing a visual resemblance with her male counterpart, Rathalos. As a terrestrial predator, she employs a venomous tail and robust legs to overpower her prey. Rathian's hide features a subdued, muted green hue, in stark contrast to Rathalos's deep red. A unique trait is the moss-like fur on her upper back and wingtips, absent in Rathalos.
Although her clubbed tail lacks bony spikes, it compensates with sharp and highly poisonous needles, capable of inflicting toxic, blunt-force wounds even if severed. Utilizing the poisonous barbs on her tail, Rathian can deal impactful, toxic damage to foes. Her powerful legs afford her impressive speed, enabling efficient pursuit of prey. Rathian shares keen vision with Rathalos, making Flash Bombs effective in combat. She displays heightened aggression towards potential threats, particularly near her nest and offspring, prioritizing hunters carrying their eggs as targets.

Fire Element projectiles at hunters and monsters. - Can charge up a powerful attack that engulfs target area in flames, causing Fireblight
- Attacks with its tail, inflicting Poison status.

- Be careful when stealing an egg from its nest, for a Rathian will chase an egg thief to the ends of the New World
- Hunters can break the head, wings, and tail. Those are the weak spots.
- Do NOT try to trigger a Turf War between Rathian and Rathalos. They will happily gang up on you instead since they're a pair. If you're fighting one and the other is in the map, a loud roar will signify that other coming to help its mate. Also if one is retreating to its nest to sleep, the other will be there to guard. Always carry dung pod when you see this pair in the same map.
Maneuvering around Rathian poses a significant challenge due to her potent tail venom and the extensive reach of her sweeping attacks. Creating a safer space becomes feasible by strategically severing her tail. When facing Rathian, equip fire-resistant armor to mitigate the impact of her venomous assaults. Engaging in egg theft from her nest demands caution, as Rathian relentlessly pursues egg thieves throughout the New World.
The spikes on Rathian's tail harbor a formidable venom. However, this poison loses its efficacy when her tail is severed. Targeting her head during a hunt is a wise strategy, exploiting its vulnerability for a more effective offensive approach.

MR Rathian fight example
Me healing Rathian charges I get hit she turns around and charges again then turns around again I get hit again and then I am stunned and she charges me again and I am dead(This doesn’t happen to me often but it still happened).

Fought MR Rathian 3 times each time got 2 rubies, 2 rubies no mantles in each mission. That would be great if I needed 6 rubies but I don't need 6 rubies I need 1 mantle, but I got 6 rubies, 2 rubies each mission. I fought her 6 times, I got 2 rubies each time! In 3 mission I got 6 Rathian Rubies! No mantle, I got 0 mantles I need 1 but I got 6 rubies!

The Rathian Hunting Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 50 minute hunting test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the nest. The poison spam speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [Diving screech] A single hit should be landed each time you hear this sound. [fireball shot] Remember to bring antidotes, and run as long as possible. The third time you fail to slay Rathian , your test is over. The test will begin on the quest start. On your mark, get ready, quest start.
I'll never forget my first fight with her. Me, panicking and shoveling potions into my face. Her, screaming and doing the pacer test on my head.

What can make her harder than Rathalos is that it's a LOT easier to get poisoned.

Seems like if a Rathalos and a Rathian are in the same map, they will help each other : hit one of those two and the other will rush over the whole map at you to protect his comrade. They can deal friendly fire but will never fight among themselves. Can be really hard cause they can also track you down everywhere if you try to flee instead make one of them fleeing.

This thing has one of the most infuriating attacks in the game, that stupid loop charge that it will repeat over and over, staring at you just as you're getting up and then repeating it's little waddle 4 more times in a row. Rathalos doesn't do this, and neither sub-species will do it, but the standard Rathian just loves to do this.
