Pierce Ammo 2 is an Ammo type of Item in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
When fired from a Bowgun, Pierce Ammo 2 releases a single projectile which travels through a target, dealing Ammo Damage in a rapid chain of damage ticks for as long as it is in contact with the target. Only Bowguns can make use of Pierce Ammo.
Pierce Ammo 2 shares some properties with all levels of Pierce ammo, namely:
- Damage of each projectile is affected by the Player's Attack Power, Affinity (critical hits,) target multipliers such as monster body parts, and distance to the target. Damage is not directly affected by recoil or a Bowgun's level of Deviation.
- Each piercing tick calculates its own damage including the chance of striking a critical hit.
- Possesses a long optimal firing range, stretching from about three to about eight paces away form a target.
In calculating projectile damage, the combo move multiplier for Pierce Ammo 2 is 7 at optimal firing distance for both Light and Heavy Bowguns. Damage ticks will fall off with distance after the projectile's first contact with a target.
