MH World Features

  • Welcome to the new World: Taking on the role of a hunter, players are tasked with going on a research expedition to a newly discovered continent known only as “new world” as they venture on quests to discover more about this mysterious land.
  • Living and breathing ecosystem: Utilize the surrounding environment and wildlife to your advantage. For example, pit Monsters against one another to lure the main target creature to the right place, but be careful not to become hindered by the hazards they present.
  • Global simultaneous release: For the first time in the Monster Hunter series the latest title will release within the same launch window and unite hunters across the world with cross-region cooperative play options.
  • Online drop-in Multiplayer: When the battle is too daunting to take on single-handedly, hail up to three other hunters to assist during quests by sending up a SOS flare to a worldwide server full of potential teammates.
  • Hunt to craft new gear: Defeat monsters and collect loot from fallen foes to craft Armor and Weapons styled after the monsters that have been slain. Selecting the right loadout can help exploit enemy weaknesses to gain an advantage in battle.
  • Master the beasts: A variety of ferocious creatures inhabit the new world landscape including the series mainstay Rathalos and the all new Anjanath. Players can mount the monsters with the dynamic riding mechanic, allowing them to travel along the monster’s body and deliver locational damage.
  • Seamless gameplay: Players and monsters can move from one map Location to another freely and without loading screens whilst gameplay also dynamically transitions between night and day.

PSA: I have deleted several rant comments from below. Answers as follows:

      1. Search function was down while it was being reworked. The issue lasted about 48 hours and has since been resolved

      2. Images are ornamental and optimized for mobile traffic. Sorry desktop users but having big images means lots of unnecessary data consumption and slow page loads. If you are looking for something specific, you can always come by discord and ask if someone has a larger image to add to the wiki.

      3. Ranting in comments doesn't help. You can: a) edit the wiki yourself or b) contact us on discord:

      4. Posting insults in comments will just result in your comment being deleted.

It's a good game. You wil have a good time no doubt about it. But it's just not my taste. Similar to a mmorpg you start slow, by killing one monster after another but then they become more specialized and you have to get special armor and weapons for each element to have a chance. Farming from this point on is the main thing you do. (I had to kill Legiana ~40 times to get one single jewel) And it gets even better when the Zora finaly leaves the island. You basical start from zero again. And if you have managed that you have to farm gems to put into your armor. In order to do that you kill "hardened" purple monsters and then get random gems. The grinding just never ends. For many this is a good thing. But I farmed my legendary already in a online game. 6month long 10h a day. I don't need more of that. Monsters or not. For everyone else, good hunting. May the loot be with you.

Fextralife can you not just go away? Wikidot and kirinico always have much better wiki's without the ugly color scheme, empty pages and speculation/lies on them. At least change the layout to not be so damaging on the eyes man

They need to make more subspecies, bring back some.... I'd personally love to see Jade Barroth in the Coral Highlands. Also had an idea for a midnight Tzitzi. He only appears at night, is really dark, and his flash does 2 quick warning flashes, than a big one, but it's used as a flashlight. It uses it at any time.

I have the feeling they've only implemented the "after credits" double purple Bazelgeuse quests (among some others) to force me to coop. I mean I like the game and I could probably beat that mission too with more farming and a decent strategy but it's so obvious you know. Give me fair single player missions and make multi optional. Instead of forcing multiplayer missions on people who just want to have a good time...alone!

If there's anyone on Xbox looking for a group reply to this comment. Compared to the Playstation ( I play on both to play with different friends) the community seems to be non-existent, or just not very helpful. I can't get anyone to join my missions to help grind out. I've reached Nergigante and am just trying to get better gear before I hop into it because I'm still wearing low rank Armour and don't have very good weapons for elder dragons, but nobody ever joins SOS flares. Not that I'm afraid to do it alone, I just don't want to spend 35-40 minutes each hunt because my weapons are weak as fuck and I've already been through this grinding bullshit and I'm not looking very hyped about this again, especially if I have to do it all SOLO.
On playstation, comparatively speaking, people join almost instantly. On xbox, I can't even get a single person, no matter what the mission is. It's infuriating. I have shitty weapons but I know what I'm doing.

If you're curious why I'm so angry about this, it's because I've gone through all of my optional pages, up to rank 7 optionals, currently doing those ones, and I've never had even one person join my flares. I even had to do the low-rank Kirin by myself, which isn't hard, but really gives you perspective on what I'm saying.

I'm doing some cleaning up & adding info to some of the weapon info pages and I found some weapons where the sharpness level is incorrect, is there a way to change the sharpness level in the page editor?
