this game has pretty mixed signals... do i fight an enraged monster or not? not even mentioning agitator and health augment, some monsters specifically have increased hitzones while enraged, and reward counter-aggression with huge topples. but for diablos, you can't out-brute it, especially black diablos. ideally, this would always be the case. a puny human hunter shouldnt be able to win against huge monsters in a contest of strength. the more action-focused gameplay of world makes diablos a huge curveball for people who start with this game like me. but then again, world is also my introduction to the series.. and the reason i'm now playing through the older games. so really, i guess the newer games did good.

Tempered MR Black Diablos is hell
On average it will bury 5 times in a row, constant charges so you spend half of the overground battle running after it, randomly double screams and nevermind that damage per hit
Pretty much have to heal any chip damage because if you do get get by that charge or unburrowing, anything less than full health with all max health boosts means death

I had a dream last night where I was a sweaty long sword main and I was killing her and the male diablos. My long sword did like, 900 damage per hit though, so the fight was over pretty quickly. One of my weirdest dreams so far lol.

Female Diablos in heat.... I'm pretty sure that means its horny
- Anonymous
Blinded her with a flash pod and when I went in to deal damage she just roared until the effect wore off and charged me. I recommend bazel gauntlets, helmet, and coil to get lvl 5 earplugs to be immune to the constant roaring.
- Anonymous
MR black diablos: digs 90% of the fight
Screamer pods: allow us to introduce our self
Hunter: ez win

Saw someone using Alatreon insect glaive on her. Either his goals are beyond our understanding or he is kinda stoopid
- Anonymous
Poor diablos, has to deal with this woman. Damn, she even has turf war with him, he ain't getting any room to breathe.

i have killed xeno but this thing is the devil and when i am in a team she is with the regular diablos what the heck, what i recommend for killing her a deviljho great sword with a heavy bowgun and a lot and i mean a lot of healing cuz if you dont ur ded also bring the hammers.

This ****er just dropped me 2x twisted horn. The stuff that is supposed to be dropped by low rank normal diablos...

How the hell does a female diablos being in heat make it immune to dragon element????????????
- Anonymous
i hate black diablos for one reason instead of doing a normal charge it creeps up step by step until its too late
- Anonymous
This might be controversial to say, but I actually enjoy hunting her. Keeps me on my toes, it never gets boring and very satisfying to eventually slay her. I usually fight her as a warm-up. And it does help improve your mastery over your desired weapon. If you can comfortably fight her, an extremely aggressive and massive beast, you’ll get a lot more comfortable with the rest of the entire game. After I did that optional quest to improve my Rocksteady-mantle I just went to the Guiding Lands for fun and hunted like 10 high tier monsters and a couple of Elder Dragons with relative ease, and even if it took some effort, I didn’t faint once. I just love the challenge this provides. (Just fyi, I use mainly raw builds, nothing elemental. To me its the most reliable way to hunt, and fighting a Black Diablos like this excites me the most)

I just killed my first black diablos with the deviljho horn and **** armor and it's not as hard as people say if you set a trap next to a cactuar and let it do half the work for you
- Anonymous
I really wished she wasn't resistant to dragon. Also tip: to make things faster find devilijho in the area. If he's not there than find diablos, if he's not there than find a cactuar. PS if black and normal diablos get in a fight the winner is random so I would rather use devilijho.

the key to to black diablos is that you have to be very evasive and patient and wait for the oppurtunity to strike
you can try bait out the double tail check and get some free slashes on the head, you could wait for it to burrow and hit it with a screamer pod stuff like that just try to see how it's behavior (or AI) works and be creative
this aint a time test you have well over an hour to beat this black monster (unless investigation lol)

Nearly 29 minutes fighting this thing for Rocksteady Mantle+. It was infuriating, annoying and tiresome but somehow I did it. ...yay. ~ * Collapsed. *

Jee some of this info is awfully subjective ain't it. ''Master Rank Changes - One of the most annoying monsters to fight - Overall, avoid at all costs. To bad a tempered Black Diablos is Guarding the Rocksteady Mantle +''
- Anonymous
I am going to say this because so many people aren't doing this, ALWAYS KEEP YOUR HEATH UP. Do not underestimate this monster she will kill you If she gets the chance I recommend at least 75% of your health is still intact before engaging
I thought it was a omnivore, due to it eating a barroth and being a apex predator.

OK stupid*****, I break both its horns and it gives me twisted horn instead

"a female diablos in heat" Yet fights the regular and white version? Diablos are strange creatures aren't they...?

For anyone farming the horns: Bring any weapon with sleep (or a Palico weapon, will take longer though) and try to get it to sleep as fast as possible. Then just put 2 Mega Barrel Bombs next to it's head and wake it up with your strongest attack to the head. That is usually enough to break one horn and damage the other one. Good luck.

Some fights in MH games are just more annoying than challenging, and BD is one of them, due to the moveset and how they balanced her. Most time of the fight is not actually spent fighting but just waiting for an opening

JUST STAY ABOVE GROUND FOR ONE *****ING MINUTE YOU BLACK PIECE OF*****!! TAKE SCREAMER PODS THEY SAID HAHA FUNNY BECAUSE YOU RUN OUT OF PODS AND CRAFTING MATERIAL 2MINS IN!!!
- Anonymous
She's like a hidden Arch-Tempered Elder Dragon, especially with multiplayer HP scaling. I had a lot more fun fighting AT Kirin with no elemental resists.

I used to be one of those people who got super salty about Black Diablos. Then I went back and played all other Monster Hunters. Now she's just a good ride and free zenny. Bring your screamer pods, time your shots right (wait for her to fully burrow), and light a cigar as you wail away for free damage. Prioritize lateral movement at a distance, or dive between her legs (giggity) when she's close. Use slopes to your advantage when she does her horn swipes, because the tail can still hit but will whiff if she's uphill. World's version of Big Black D is remarkably easy to take compared to prior iterations. Have fun!

I got Mini Gold crown at 1886.63... only had to hunt 73 of them (probably skipped at least that many) and one full weekend...

Beware of "capture" quests. The Black Diablos will not usually run away when weakened, so you may have literally no warning that its health is low before it dies.

Hunted both this version and reg diablos. I've gotten, like, 10 blos medullas, 0 ridge+, and 0 majestic horns after breaking the correct parts :l

If anyone hasn't noticed yet, both of the pictures of the armor sets are alpha. Could someone fix this?

"...Diablos in heat..."
So the horned wyvern gets stronger when it's...
...horny?

Hello. My name is Sandra B. Diablos. I like long walks on the beach, spending 50% of my time burrowing underground, 20% of my time exploding back to the surface, and 30% of my time having a persistent hitbox that can do damage even when I'm seemingly standing still or not touching you. Will you love me?
- Anonymous
Ah yes. The one monster that gets under my skin. It doesn't matter how extended your evade distance is, how stun free you are or what weapon you use. It's gonna hurt ya bad before you drop it. Deal with it.

i went on an expedition to kill her and i got a wyvern gym with out cutting her tail off. How ever i did break both horns and her back.
- Anonymous
Who the hell thought it was a good idea to give her perfect tracking on her charge? It's as bad as those Flame Salamanders in Dark Souls 2.
- Anonymous
also, it will engage in a turf war with a regular diablos, doing around 3000 damage to it.
- Anonymous
Tips for fighting this:
-Use streamer pods when ur burrows
-use lighting weapons and aim for the head and horns
For me I just used bows to ignore it’s stunning roar
