Partbreaker is a Skill in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
Partbreaker Effect
Partbreaker is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
Level 1: Part damage +10%
Level 2: Part damage +20%
Level 3: Part damage +30%
Notes
Part breaker do NOT add damage to "trips". This skill only adds damage to parts that will change the monster's model. Example cutting off tails, horns being broken off making the monster hornless. Again, this skill will not help reach trip thresholds, This skill is mainly used to obtain tails and horns.
Will not work on Kulve Taroth's horns in area 4 but will work on her gold mantle and horn plating.

it only does %30 more damage to parts... so say your weapon does 30 against a right leg you do 30 to the monster health but parts have separate health legs are ussually around 300 so you would do 40 against this number, but not the over all health of the monster ex: jargas has 4500 his right leg has 140 your hits on his right leg are 30 you would lower his health to 4470 -30 you would lower his leg health to 100 -40 (if you have the full +30%)

This basically adds 30% damage to a monsters break threshold. Any damage dealt to an unbroken part will receive this bonus damage. Works well when paired with Bombardier because the bombs are basically 60% stronger. Pretty much guarantees a break for certain monsters, like Diablos horns and Uragaan jaw.

How does this work exactly? Does this increase damage by 30% when you are hitting parts?

Don't sleep on this skill. Partbreaker, as many people noted below only affects part damage and not actual monster health damage. This isn't a pure DPS skill and don't get confused. However, many monsters, including elder dragons, either flinch or get knocked down after a part is broken (Ex. Velkana's head). Partbreaker is great for creating openings on certain monsters and also can severely weaken others (break Rathalos' wings and it can't fly anymore, break Anjanath's throat and it won't breath fire effectively, etc). Consider using this skill if you like breaking parts and creating openings instead of relying on pure DPS skills such as Peak Performance or Agitator. If you have max DPS already, you may not need it, but remember that sometimes breaking a part early gives you and your team a great DPS window which might end the fight earlier, rather than waiting for a window later in the fight. Note also in Guiding Lands everytime you break a part you cause the monster to drop shinies (which you want!).
