Piercing Shots is a Skill in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
Piercing Shots Effect
Piercing Shots is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
Level 1: Increases the power of piercing ammo and Dragon Piercer- Level 2: Greatly increases the power of piercing ammo and Dragon Piercer
Increases raw damage on bowgun Pierce 1/2/3 ammo and bow's Dragon Piercer by 10% at lv1 and 20% at lv2.
Equipment that grants Piercing Shots
You can increase the level of Piercing Shots by equipping the following items.
- Penetration Charm I (x1)
- Penetration Charm II (x2)

In training ground I shot the pole without anything on (besides my gun) with piercing shot 3, 14 damage. With it on I did 15.
Even with all my gear with attack boost 7 and non-element boost it only added one point of damage(17 up to 18).
In my opinion this is not worth giving up a armor slot for 1 damage per hit for one ammo type on an unslotted armor. Maybe if it was on something else.

I'm using a Dragon piercer build on World using Piercing shot II & Special ammo boost II.
It's way harder to play like that than going for a power/arc shot build but it's really satisfying to see really big numbers going though the whole monster.
