Detector is a Skill in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
Detector Effect
Detector is increased in level based on the amount of Equipment with this skill the hunter is using. Each level works as follows:
Level 1: Marks rare sites on the wildlife map.
Equipment that grants Detector
You can increase the level of Detector by equipping the following items.
- Shamos Goggles (x1)
- Shamos Goggles Alpha (x1)
- Shamos Goggles Beta (x1)
- Shamos Goggles Alpha + (x1)
- Shamos Goggles Beta + (x1)

Ok I have tried this out, and the first thing i noticed is that the zone map will highlight CERTAIN resources, be they minables, or fauna. from these particular nodes you can sometimes get up to double the output. These plants will also 'sparkle' with a white light, as opposed to the green sparkle the scout flies will show. This ability may not generate these special nodes themselves, as when i marked a selected resource and changed out the ability, the item remained sparkling and generated a few bonus items.
