Guard Up is a Skill in Monster Hunter World (MHW). This skill is activated by Set Bonus: Uragaan Protection, Uragaan Ambition.
Guard Up Effect
Guard Up has only 1 level
- Level 1: Allows you to guard against ordinarily unblockable attacks

- Xeno'jiva Continuous Horizontal Laser beam (Fire Balls, and Vertical Beams do not require Guard Up to block)
- Kulve Taroth Fire Breath
- Behemoth Belly-flop and Ground Fireburst
- Velkhana's Ice Breath
- Shara Ishvalda's Laser Attacks
- Safi'Jiiva Laser Attacks
- Rajang & Furious Rajang Lightning Beam

- Raging Brachydios Final Area Explosion Attack

Guard Up is a bonus skill obtained by
- Uragaan Protection: Equipping Any 3 pieces of Uragaan Alpha Armor Set or Uragaan Beta Armor Set
- Uragaan Ambition: Equipping Any 2 pieces of Uragaan Alpha + (α) Set or Uragaan Beta + (β) Set
- Bulwark Charm: Available to craft after earning a Research Commission Ticket
- Shield Jewel 2

Does not block Savage Deviljho pin. Really quite frustrating.
What's the recommended way to farm Shield Jewel? "Name's Lavasioth"?

can it block when monster run through you? I use HBG with shield mod sometimes monster run can knocked me down. like tigrex

It also blocks Velkhana's ice breath attacks with just minor chip damage.

Does it need guard up to block roar, tziti-ya-ku flash, khusala wind armor?

Seems to also prevent chip damage when blocking other attacks. Could be mistaken and it's some other skill, but while blocking attacks I don't even lose red health anymore.

You need it for Uragaan's sleep fog too, can't remember if you needed it for it's fire attack too.

The Uragaan stuff is not strong enough anymore with the new armors coming in, so best get this as a charm,
people asking what it can block = it blocks Nergigante's 1 hit kill move in the air, the new Kirin on steroids 1 hit kill electric floor, It's a very powerful skill to have just make sure you got enough stamina to use it.

Does this skill work with the "guard point" from the Switch axe?

wonder what attacks can guard up benefit from? would appreciate if someone would comment monster attack moves that requires this skill to be able to block.
Guarding all the Elder Dragons strongest attacks with this in one my decoration slots is hilarious.
