this mf huge af, spams fireballs, and is not fun to fight. bow player here, lowest time is under 12 mins and average is under 15 mins. im no speed runner. take advantage of elemental weakness and tenderize. always aim for the wings and break both of them. after that, keep aiming for the wings. no point in aiming for the head if it shoots you in the face 20 different times. unless you know the moveset well enough, go for it. im not trying to die and you might as well do the same. used evasion+ and temporal. vitality 3 is a must. other wise, youre a one way ticket to carting. and even then youre not guaranteed to live if that mf combos you into stun. i find myself carting often once, uncommon case where i dont cart at all, and rarely would cart twice and rage. youre welcome, new bow buddy.

using greatsword, most of my time is spent running and dodging and letting my cat do most of the damage. hate this thing.
- Anonymous
I feel like my cat does most of the damage every time I fight this thing I'm too busy running from everything while trying to look for like one or two safe openings.
- Anonymous
Was looking forward to this guy since i am basic ass ***** and just love basic wyverns and dragons and don't even mind that in MR, flyers borderline don't care about flashpods
After a nice and so far no carting fight since his move set is quite similar to Azure Rathalos, just with far more lethal fire balls (faster projectile speed, higher damage and bigger splash), a freaking Rajang interrupted us
Was worried the Silver Rathalos would die now since i generally prefer to capture monsters ... also i was worried i would die too
Damn monkey, barely saved both of us with dungpods and did manage to capture Rathalos

Got excited after fighting gold Rathian with how much better she was, then I fought him and he was still just as spammy and fliey and annoying as ever.

My friend got a Large Gold Crown at 2130.28 - need to change that please

Tips to unlock silver rath : 1. It's top priority to reach MR 70 2. Level up coral or volcanic region to level 6 (You only get tempered silver rath in coral level 7) 3. If you find it hard to level up guiding lands, you can always do the event quest called "A glance of silver" Thanks if you found this really helpful :D
- Anonymous
The event quest "A Glance of Silver" is missing from "Target of Quests".
- Anonymous
so it doesnt show a flashing skull or limping animation when its near death, but if you think its near death you can go back to camp using farcaster and he'll be sleeping so you can just trap and capture

I have come to realize that the Dual blades with water affinity (I recommend the Holy Sabers) With that I was able to kill the Silver Rathalos in about 20 minutes with one accidental faint because of posion and a stun up against a wall.

I have so much luck with him than gold rathian because. I got the second largest silver rathalos at 19.25, and got THEsmallest silver thalaos at 14.87! In just 4 fights! In terms of difficulty I consider him easier since he used poison less than gold rathian and gold rathian has noxious poison which is basically poison but much more potent but silver rathalos uses the normal type of poison

I was soooooo surprised when i searched "hardest monsters in iceborne" and he was considered to be the hardest!!!!! I haven't meet him yet so after hearing that info i was scared

Is this stupid thing immune to dung pods? I tried several and it wouldn’t leave it’s a pain trying to solo both silver and gold at the same time.
- Anonymous
Btw, there are tools that let you see the health of a monster. 99% of large monsters that are not elder dragons can be captured under 20% HP. Silver Rath under 5% last I checked.
Fests play such a major role in progressing in the game. You will only understand that if you start a new character right now. An event WASTELAND without any economic way to get decorations. And without decorations...well you better play Horizon Zero Dawn. It's like walking through a swamp compared to the joy the winter and appreation fest were. If that was your entry point after a year this big nothingness feels like a death field of boringness.

Important note. This and gold rathian can spawn in the volcanic region, however they can NOT spawn as tempered in the volcanic area. If you want the pendants or the tempered materials, you have to level up their original regions
- Anonymous
I'm not sure if it was a fluke or what but as soon as I got my Volcanic region to level six my first one of these showed up in it so apparently it can spawn there too....for anyone who'd rather level that than coral.
- Anonymous
If you want him to spawn more often just jump between maps until he pops up in the guiding lands. Easiest way
- Anonymous
Capturing this thing is a gigantic pain - it doesn't have any kind of limping animation as it never leaves the area it starts in for any reason. Typically, if you get a head break it's pretty close to dying. At that point you basically have to spam traps.
- Anonymous
How rare is it to get the special arena quest for this guy so far I captured it 4 times and have only gotten that quest once.
- Anonymous
This dude moves almost as fast as Lunastra and his hellfire hits as hard as B52's napalm. I'm using augmented MR Luna + hard fire res jewel + veggie + health boost 3 and the hellfire still leaves a sizable dent in the HP.
- Anonymous
I'm going to get his alpha armor set before doing the rajang quest.

Encountered Tempered Silver Rathalos at Coral Region Level 7. Wanted to add I don't think they can be captured. They had skulls showing on my map noting they were close to dying but a trap + bomb was ineffective. Gave me 4 Decos and one being a rarity 11 so I'm sure that's always guaranteed per kill.

For people who want easier find with this monster. First you gotta fight it or sight it so it is "unlocked" in your monster list, and you need to pass the 69 cap so you can join others GL if they do have a spawn however it's pretty rare though still. What I did without knowing while trying to max research level on mosnters in elder recess map is that you get investigations of silver rathalos pretty easily. You do have to fight similar threat level monsters like dodogama, lavasioth, azure rathalos and etc. Collect the tracks or just simply break parts and kill the monsters that will give you investigations (random ofc). I don't think fighting elder dragons will give you silver rathalos as they probably would give your teostra, lunastra investigations and such. I've got 3 investigations of silver rathalos now that's like.. 15 hunts on this guy so good luck folks!
- Anonymous
Hope this doesn't happen to you, but I can't seem to get this guy to show up. Ran lvl 6 Coral with a group for like... 3 hours, fighting off monsters as we went. 9-10 kills, and it still didn't show.

Does anyone know how many decoration slots the beta armor has? I assume each piece has the 4 slot every beta piece has, but what do the rest of the slots look like?

tempered silver rathalos might be the least fun I've ever had playing this game
