I recommend the upgraded sleep charn. Quite easy to craft and negates his sleep gas completely. He's still a jerk and a pain in the ass to hit, but much much easier

All i can say is that this is one of the monsters that i will never fight again, never was a fan of the normal one anyway but this one i can only imagine the suffering youd have if you didnt have sleep immunity. Fortunately i got 2 sleep decos and the charm is easy to make, but honestly if you dont have any decos it's absolutely worth grinding for armor sets/ charms to combat sleep so you can actually somewhat fight this abomination. Even then this fight took forever cause my wep was not really master tier and this thing spends about 80% of the fight in air. So expect cancer and def get a better weapon cause youd be saving time just having a better weapon instead of smacking its dangling noodle for 25+ mins as it clobbers you. As a side note this is the 2nd creature that has a horribly not fun mechanic that i felt was worse than anything ive fought so far, with the other being the super ebola kadachi you fight earlier. They both are cancerous subspecies that have a single terrible (and incredibly spammy) gimmick that makes the fight stressful/prolonged in an arguably bad way but can be utterly bypassed through immunity. Though viper kadachi atleast isnt up in the air farting on you for the entire fight

I like the look of the Nightshade Paolumu but one thing I hate is his scream. His scream sounds like he's eat a burger and water at the same time.

i have a few tips for this guy
ok first BRING FLASH PODS when he is in his balloon state use a flash pod of try to mount him dont go for the tail go for the head poulomus are known for there hard tails and there SOFT fur on there heads so go for the head when he is in his sleep mode he will fire balls of sleep try to avoid them but if your going to be in tight spaces so bring energy drinks just when he stops in the air he is going to release a big cloud of sleep that CAN be spread around with his attacks but if you attack him with a long range weapon he will tumble down and fall asleep in his own sleep cloud thats when you do some serious damage ( one more thing there is an attack when he flies all around the battlefield all you need to do is just superman dive and you'll avoid it ) - Smart Guy

i like to call this guy: sleepy balloon face
              odogaron i call: spiky claws
and my fav, i call great jagres: fat dude

This is a version of paolumu can keeps you on your toes if your not careful. He can put you to sleep with his sleep smoke and can spread it around, not to mention his big move where he gives huge amounts to the ground. It is like this monster can detect if your a sleep because when you are starting to fall a sleep he immediately attacks you with on of his big attacks. Way more fun then normal paolumu but personally I hate sleep. Like the event quest "balloon fight" was so annoying. overall 8.5/10 for a subspecies.

If melee weapon is your choice, you can use flinch shot while she is in the air to bring her down instantly. This will work only if she is not enraged. If she is enraged however, you can still bring her down if you break or reach the damage treshold for any of her breakable parts.

how do you "encourage" it to the ground? I just used bug glave, no need for sleep resist, i was never on the ground. This guy is cool though.

I swear, I’d make a pillow out of this fluffer’s neck if I could. Not because I have a crudge against this guy, but because I think it would just be reeeeeeaaaally comfortable.

I got spoiled that this was a sleep monster, so I decided to farm for lvl3 sleep resistance and the fight was as easy as a regular paolumu. Best decision I've ever made. I went back without any sleep res because I was curious, and it was living hell. DO NOT SKIMP ON SLEEP RESISTANCE, it is the most important skill for this fight.

Really helps to have a sleep-cancel hunting horn on the team when fighting this guy, either that or bring energy drinks and pray.

annoying reskin trash, waste of a monster slot, should have been a new monster in its place. ***** you capcom.

unlike his cousin, this guy is not cute AT ALL! He's the biggest troll of this game created by Satan himself

                              • Anonymous

This poor guy... He's kinda like Kulu, hits decently hard, but relies on a gimmick to do so. Level three sleep resistance makes him a joke. Might be because I had Master Mounter, but it seemed extremely easy to mount as well, easier than other monsters.
