Furious Rajang is a Large Monster in Monster Hunter World (MHW). 激昂したラージャン in Japanese. Furious Rajang, is a highly aggressive variant of the standard Rajang. Known for its intense fury, glowing golden fur, and increased power, Furious Rajang unleashes devastating electrical attacks and rapid, unpredictable movements. Hunters must brace for an intensified onslaught, featuring lightning-fast punches, powerful beam attacks, and relentless pursuit. The Furious Rajang's frenetic combat style demands exceptional reflexes and strategic planning. Engaging this electrified behemoth requires hunters to stay on their toes, exploiting openings while mitigating the risks posed by its amplified rage.

A Rajang variant covered in golden fur. Utilizes severe ranged and wall-based attacks. It enters a glowing golden state when enraged.

Furious Rajang Details & Locations

Furious Rajang Combat Info

  • Resistant to Shock Trap, can be captured using Pitfall Trap
  • Kinsect Extracts:
    • Red: Head.
    • Orange: Arms/Body.
    • White: Hindlegs.
  • Enraged mode: Glows Yellow. Lightning constantly runs through its fur.
  • Furious Rajang will constantly be in its powered up mode, making it more aggressive and its attacks quicker. It will never revert back to its black fur form until it is slain.
  • Since it's always in its powered up mode, Furious Rajang can enrage at any time, entering its even more powerful Rampage Mode shortly after. Without wounding it, you won't be able to attacks its arms at all in this mode!

Furious Rajang Tips

  • Furious Rajang does not have a tail (which is why it is Furious) and thus its only weakpoint is its arms/head, which can be hard to hit, tenderizing it's hindlegs can be extremely useful but difficult to manage considering how aggressive this monster is in shaking you off.
  • Attacking its head while it is in its Rampage mode (arms glow red and attacks bounce off) will make it end faster.
  • Furious Rajang has multiple attacks that can hit behind him - be careful of his 'goat-kicker' (his back leg just kicking) and of course always be ready to roll. Still, attacking from behind is your safest strategy.
  • Furious Ragang enrages rather easily and triggers its Rampage mode very fast. Weaken its Arms with a Clutch Claw attack to avoid deflection, be advised that since Furious Rajang is extremely fast, pulling of the Clutch Claw attack might be tough.
  • Since Furious Rajang has no tail, you stop its rampage mode by dealing damage to its head. Be very careful though, as Furious Rajang's attacks are most devastating if you are in front of it.
  • Furious Rajang will destroy Shock Traps during rampage mode(red arms), will ignore Pitfall Traps when not enraged and can still attack out of a Pitfall Trap.
  • It is definitely recommended to avoid getting pinned, since Furious Rajang's pin attack will easily deal more than 50% of your health (with Health Boost 3) and knock you down, inflict Thunderblight, and most likely Stun, it, however, can't kill you (like Safi'jiiva's pin, it will leave you at 1hp).
  • Using a Flash Pod on Furious Rajang while someone is pinned will free the pinned hunter.
  • The final attack of Furious Rajang's pin deals heavy damage around him, not just the hunter that has been pinned so be wary.

MHW Furious Rajang Attack & Movesets

Furious Rajang uses the following moves:

  • Triple Punch Combo: Furious Rajang delivers a lightning-fast series of three powerful punches in quick succession, leaving little room for hunters to counter. Evading or guarding effectively is crucial to avoid taking significant damage.
  • Furious Charge: Furious Rajang charges at hunters with remarkable speed, covering a considerable distance. Evading or using terrain strategically is essential to avoid getting trampled.
  • Ground Slam and Shockwave: Furious Rajang slams its fists into the ground, creating shockwaves that travel outward. Hunters need to time their evasions to avoid both the initial impact and the ensuing shockwaves.
  • Lightning Beam: Furious Rajang can unleash a concentrated beam of lightning from its mouth, targeting hunters in a straight line. Evading to the side or using obstacles for cover is vital to avoid this high-damage attack.
  • Rock Throw: Furious Rajang picks up nearby boulders and hurls them at hunters. This ranged attack demands quick reactions to dodge or block, preventing substantial damage.
  • Spin Slam Combo: Furious Rajang performs a spinning slam, creating a series of shockwaves around it. Hunters should maintain a safe distance and time their dodges to evade both the initial slam and subsequent shockwaves.
  • Lightning Slam Dive: Furious Rajang leaps into the air and crashes down with a powerful slam, releasing electrical shockwaves on impact. Evading away from the point of impact is crucial to avoid taking severe damage.
  • Jumping Lightning Strike: Furious Rajang can perform a leaping strike, targeting hunters from a distance with a powerful electrical attack. Dodging or using terrain to block the attack is essential for survival.
  • Enraged Mode: When enraged, Furious Rajang's attacks become more ferocious, and its speed increases significantly. Hunters must remain vigilant and adapt to the heightened aggression during this phase.
  • Grab and Slam: Furious Rajang grabs a hunter with its mouth, slamming them into the ground. Teammates need to act quickly to free the pinned hunter and avoid continuous damage.

I find this monster attacks pretty much in cheating territory when if you are on controller sometimes you can't even turn the camera towards him cause its too slow with the analog stick. Add 2 attacks (one pretty much an instakill if Divine Blessing don't proc) with the same animation that if you are playing ranged you have to dodge to different directions to avoid. So instead of bashing my head against the wall, I just cheated him back with a modded 6500 attack LBG and murdered him before he could even run away the 1st time. He is done, I won't ever fight him again and can move on. Regular Rajang was a great fight. Raging Brachy was even greater, a hyper aggressive monster done right and with an epic ending 1v1. No surprise that this guy was just the filler content on Raging Brachy update. 100% will cheat this BS monster again if he ever decides to show up for a rematch, but I really hope I won't have the displeasure of ever seeing him again.

Ok, here's my 5 step process to beating the monke.

Step 1 - Get monke lightning/butt/fist to the face.

Step 2 - Palicos cart you back to camp.

Step 3 - Take frustration out on the Handler. (do not skip!)

Step 4 - Repeat two more times.

Step 5 - Assume the fetal position and cope.

        Easy as that!

After hours of failed attempts, memorizing his attack patterns wasnt enough. Evade Window and Evade Extender did it.

          • Anonymous

I beat its ass with evade extender. If you're like me who was barely getting clipped by all of its attacks, out on evade extender and whoop its ass. It made the fight so much easier once I could actually gtfo of the way.

Its Furious because it has no tail (no weakness). Humm, is this somehow a reference to Goku from Dragon Ball?

if you guys use both evasion armor skill max, you can easily dodge his attacks. but yes, its hard to find an opening then strike. its 80% dodge 20% attack.. but much easier. my best record solo with Velkahn LS, Doara Armor is 32mins. yeah not fast but cant imagine if im not doing those.

not sure for blocking tho. i only use bow, dualsword, longsword.

For the pin attack this: (however, can't kill you (like Safi'jiiva's pin, it will leave you at 1hp).

Is just misinformation, because ive definetly died from the pin attack (not the punch but the pin itself).

I hate that after some attacks his arm swinging doesnt have any start up frames.

Do any Lance players have some advice how to avoid/not have to block the dive bomb, its pretty much the only attack where Im just like "guess ill block and lose half my hp".

Also can you guard dash backwards while still shielding infront? The body slam always ends me up in an awful position if I dont Iframe it.

I thought might give some tips to people who are struggling with this monster. Basically, the best thing you can do is try to bring his health to zero while at the same time keeping yours above zero. Two good ways to do this are to dodge his attacks and also attack him. Hopefully this was helpful. Good luck, and happy hunting!

                          • Rajangs have some attacks where they are immobile for a short time afterwards. Be patient and look out for these moment and then strike. That's pretty much all there is to this fight. For a long time Greatsword was my weapon of choice for them but shelling Gunlance was even better. Negating the thick armor. Just don't get too greedy.

it's retarded that he has two attacks with the same animation before
using a bow you have to dodge towards him when he spits the electricity in front of him but when he does the dive bomb you have to dodge backwards or to the side
he's also so small and fast you often can't follow him unless you're using a mouse because the analog stick literally doesn't turn fast enough
get too greedy with attacks and he'll usain bolt sprint towards you and damage you with his persistent hitbox because apparently hunters are fatally allergic to rajang fur
it's not even difficult it's just really annoying, you get hit because of BS reasons or because you got greedy which only makes you roll your eyes at best

melee on the other hand he's relatively easy

raging brachy is a 10x better fight than the yellow monke

                                I beat it in solo!
                                Here is my story.

First I tried shooting it with a light bowgun... It didn't work.(reloading leaves me open too much)

Then I came back with an ice bow... It didn't work (took too long)

Lastly I used a high elemental jewels with the velkhana SnS my skills were Max evade window and Max evade extender vitality 2, medicine 2 and gobbler 2. It worked so well that it even destroyed a tempered furious rajang with 5 minutes remaining on the clock and no carts!

                                That's a win!

Me seeing Rajang in Monter Hunter Stories:
"This is the stupidest looking monster I've seen yet."

Me after fighting Furious Rajang in Iceborne:
                                    "I TAKE IT ALL BACK."

Was doing his quest and saw him having a turf was with ruiner. This one time today he actually made ruiner nergi retreated. First time seeing nergi losing a turf war... must be the 3rd or even 4th form of this super saiyan.

This is my favorite fight in the game honestly. Not so much the tempered furious though. Using greatsword against him is super fun to me especially solo. It might be harder with other weapons though

I like how it's called "furious rajang". They probably needed to call it, and I quote: "mad angry infuriated irate raging fuming enraged thundering wrathful berserk out-of-any-control rajang"

                                          • Anonymous

I have about 14 monsters I haven't killed yet, but so far Furious Rajang is the hardest so far. You get the quest pretty quick after Iceborne's story, so it's not like I was using end-game gear. He carted me twice and I was really scared on my last life (even running to Ruiner Nergigante for free damage). Even though I've only done it once, I believe the trick to this thing is to go Kirin-mode, you come in for 1 attack, smack his face, get out... repeat until stunned or a good opening appears. Also, Evader Extender is amazing for this (if not literally every monster).

Even though "Mew are number one!" is a pain to do I need them astal tickets. I really want attack jewel 4 and some other crazy powerful decorations.

Barely managed to beat him once by sheer luck with less than 5 minutes left. Never again seriously fk this fight its zero fun and when you do win it just dosnt feel good, it feels cheap

Wouldn't this funny monke be considered a deviant, because it had a run in with a hunter, and lost its tail, then became trapped in enraged status?

gamers who play mhw: wow.... this monster is the worst idea in the history of monster hunter world

"Mew are number one!" sounds like a cute kind of quest but soon realize it's the exact opposite. seriously a temper furious Rajang? The only reason I did the quest is because I want to experience something new and OH BOY did I get something new! He doesn't have any particularly new moves but he hits very hard. More so or maybe the same like AT Namielle. Took me like 2 tries to defeat him since I had a pretty good team though the first one didn't do that well. But we managed to do 2 parts broken before I DISCONNECTED BECAUSE OF WIFI! But I thought to myself " okay.. he already has 2 part breaks and you have zero faints so you might win" and I did, and completed the quest in under 40 minutes :) Well that's my experience how's yours?

Is it me, or is Furious Rajang an "easier" fight than vanilla Rajang? Yeah, it has more HP, hits harder, has fewer weak points and has bigger and flashier moves, but those big and flashy moves also have bigger, punishable openings, and you have more time to recover after getting smacked. Vanilla Rajang feels faster, more relentless, and tends to unleash more attacks with no tells (like when you try to attack from behind and it instantly 180s to punch you into space). Vanilla Rajang also has no qualms about sitting on your fallen body and smashing you on wakeup for kill combos, whereas I've almost never had Furious do that to me. Finally, Vanilla's big lightning slam seems WAAAAAY harder to avoid than Furious', as it tracks tighter and seems to have a wider AOE (forcing you to rely on panic dives the instant you see the startup), whereas you can easily outrun or roll away from Furious' version, giving you room for a quick punish.

                                                            • Anonymous

This thing's basically a perma-hitbox that darts all over the map before you can hit it where it hurts, and I've hated every iteration of Rajang in every game it's ever been in. That said, one skill has remained consistently good against all monkey monsters in MonHun, and that's Tremor Resist. Even Furious Rajang takes a LONG time to recover from its big ground-pounds, giving you precious seconds to smack its face until its battery goes out. Considering how frequently it hits those quakes, this can be an excellent source of safe damage. Just don't get greedy.

I wonder how much defense would it take to get so powerful that one hit only takes about 5%of your health?

                                                                      • Anonymous

So like whats the deal with him jumping away from pitfall traps? I tried to use them while fighting to deal some damage but every time I baited him onto them he seemed to trigger it and jump away, essentially destroying it. I even snuck up on him once with the ghillie mantle and dropped it right under him while he was standing still and he still jumped away. I think I've only gotten him in the pit maybe 2 out of ten attempts

                                                                        • Anonymous

Near impossible, his single-shot instant kill thunder attack grab is super overpowered and needs to be nerfed. Did it to me twice in a row right out of the gate after meeting him, completely put me off to MHW.

                                                                          • Anonymous

I actually managed to solo this beast with a Longsword but I never got a perfect foresight slasg and my sword gauge stayed yellow because it was so hard to get a single hit in, I just basically took my time and used every opportunity I had, going as far as wearing challenger mantle to lure it to a turf war with ruiner negigante and I also ate for felyne safeguard and took advantage of Fortitude boost.

                                                                            • Anonymous

His pin can kill you, don't know what kind of bullcrap these people are on, but I've died three times to that God forsaken pin.

                                                                              • Anonymous

This was one of the most infuriating hunts to do solo, but I did it first try after failing in multiplayer so, so many times. All I can say is ranged weapons are far easier to use compared to melee (Insect Glaive vs. Bow), watch out for his two new attacks that do insane damage in terms of 'wha-' and surprisingly his laser is one of the safest moves (if not the safest) to get in damage, and if you are going to do it solo, PLEASE use Shieldspire tool on your palico, it distracts Rajang and allows you to heal and prepare (or get in safe damage using range!) for round 300 while the stooge takes like 100 hits, and if you didn't unlock the spire in the main story or get it up to level 15, do that beforehand.

                                                                                • Anonymous

You have to respect your Hunter’s durability. We all faint from time to time and always stand back up without dying. Going as far as taking a f*cking laser to the face and just walking it off like it was nothing while drinking Comission Brand energy-drink. We’re only able to feel pain, but we never get injured or die. We’ve hunted everything that can be viewed as a f*cking life-ender. And we took soooooooooo many blows that should’ve killed us so many times. No wonder we’re the best f*cking hunter of the Comission, if not the Guild, if not the entire f*cking world. We’re just Rocky Balboa;”This ain’t about how hard you can hit, its about how hard you can get hit. About how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. That’s how winnin’ is done.” (Please don’t mind if I got the quote wrong or something... its been a while since I last saw any of those movies)

                                                                                  • Anonymous

it took the 4 of us 39 minutes to slay this guy. I mean, granted we're all not BiS engame geared, that's some serious effort that we had to put in to capture this guy.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

who create this ****, is this even human level? so swift, so aggresive, hit hard, even elder dragon is far easier wtf this gorila, put it back into the cage pls

                                                                                      • Anonymous

Honestly I think Furious is easier than base. I know it’s April 1st, but I’m being serious! I don’t mean easier in a bad way, not at all. Get off your game for a second and Furious’ll end you in no time. However, the introduction of a new small handful of ranged moves hurts the usually untouchable Ranged weapons, but gives a cunning Melee user the time to strike. The endlag after these new moves are just what we needed to make Rajang the balance between crazy difficult and too easy. Also, hitting the head to get out of rage is SO much nicer! I was never able to knock base Rajang out of rage because the tail takes up 3 pixels. Hitting the head is far riskier, but more rewarding, and I want horn breaks anyways. Still hate base, but Furious improved my liking of this monster :)

                                                                                        • Anonymous

Really not a fan of his new attack where he jumps up and shoots a volley of explosive balls on the ground...very messy given how quick the attack is and how much he spams it

                                                                                          • Anonymous

Wow, so theoretically, this armor you can make from this guy is possibly the most powerful in the game. Not only do you get the powerful maximum might secret at 2 pieces, but at 4 pieces you get Heroics secret which gives 40% attack boost at low health when completely maxed. That right there is dangerous. 40% damage on top of reliable affinity boost is devastating. absolutely risky, but devastating.

                                                                                            • Anonymous

Furious rajang gets a new set bonus for their unique armor. Dev's didn't say what it was, only that players would enjoy it. Gotta wonder what it is.

                                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                                • Anonymous

New attack info: F. Rajang has a xeno attack where it sends energy into the ground and detonates it in a cone in front of it. Also the pin can no longer be escaped from like normal rajang. Bring lifepowders. Additionally Rampage mode can only be stopped early by targeting the head now instead of the tail. Be extremely cautious in this scenario.

Is this for real or misinformation? If so I'll be extra paranoid of what I'll be doing so I don't get stuck in animation when he's dying and end up carting...
