MHW Fulgur Anjanath Combat Tips

The Fulgur Anjanath, a variant of the formidable Anjanath, charges its physical attacks with the power of the thunder element, infusing energy into its jaws and dorsal membrane. Combining explosive volts with bone-crushing bites, it poses a formidable challenge, especially for those accustomed to the base game's Anjanath.

Fulgur Anjanath's thunder-infused attacks pose a significant threat, particularly its shocking bites that can swiftly deplete your health. It often strings these bites into combos, making it crucial to stay beneath or behind the monster for safety. Engaging cautiously, seize opportunities to strike, especially after it employs ranged electrical attacks.

Beware of Thunderblight, an ailment inflicted by Fulgur's electric assaults, increasing the risk of stunning hunter with rapid attacks.

Consider these additional tips to enhance your strategy in this encounter:

  • His uncharged section is not nearly as dangerous as his charged state. Stamina Thief can slow him down in his charged mode so you can get in those precious damage numbers.
  • If you use Stamina Thief, Ice element weapons are probably the best, since you can keep him in his uncharged state more often than not.

Kinda weird how he's vulnerable to ice despite living mostly in the hoarfrost. Should've been vulnerable to fire like how many subspecies are vulnerable to their base form's element.

i think if the long pauses it takes after any attack were removed and the super charged state comes sooner this thing could be a nightmare. also the part break threshold is too low. as of now fulgar is as easy as regular anja.

i have currently only hunted up to the banbaro but i spend a lot of time running from this hell monster as it is everywhere in the ancient forest wildspire waste elders recess even coral highlands i cannot wait until i get strong enough for VENGEANCE!

            • Hello my fellow hunters, mortals seem to be having a problem with this monster so I thought I could shed some light on some forbidden tips. His uncharged section is not nearly as dangerous and his charged state. Stamina Thief can slow him down in his charged mode so you can get in those precious damage numbers. Also if you use stamina thief ice element weapons are probably the best since you can make him in his uncharged state more often than not. And sadly in the area with the popo, the make good body shields. Anyway dads yelling at me to go to bed so farewell l and good luck my fellow hunters. (P.S If your having any troubles please comment and I´ll do my best to help.)

wait? so... he can shoot electric balls out of his mouth?
WHATS NEXT an attack where he can bite yo face of?!?!?
( acutely possible it happens with savage deviljho
just lure him to area 19 in hard frost reach
get him enraged and then wait till he does his long strait dragon attack
avoid it then he will jump attack you then you get knocked down
and then boom your dead for real but you come back to life and get a new head
prob a glitch but it cool )

Any time this dude shows up, BAM turf war. He's saved my ass on several occasions. This dude is a mad lad. The antithesis of Bazelgeuse.

He is known to me as "Chad Thundercock".

I love in the first encounter with the viper Kadachi he just choke-slams the poor snake-squirrel and then walks off like a real G

Many of this guy's electrically charged attacks actually are multi attacks such as when they bite the ground with lightning. Rocksteady results in a lot of damage during those attacks.

Does anyone have any tips for getting the mantle? I’ve fought it several times and have never gotten it, and have now resorted to cutting the tail off, carving it and leaving the quest but I still can’t seem to get it. Is it more likely to get it if you break the head?

I'm very glad that subspecies are making a return in world as not only are we getting new monsters but also some returning monster as well, as for now I will start off speculation on the Fulgur Anjanath. It will most likely have the same critical spots as it is the same monster mostly, however with elemental and aliment weaknesses, I think that the Fire element will be the most affective on this monster unlike many other thunder element monster being weak to the Ice element (Zinogre, Rajang, Astalos, etc), as Fulgur Anjanath is seen in the Hoarfrost Reach as shown in the Glavenus trailer, as for aliments I have no idea as Anjanath as no real aliment weaknesses. Now at Comic Con this year we were shown some... very interesting things such as new weapons, armor, some scrapped designs, and also a new Glavenus Subspeces, but... I will get to that some other time... for now then back to Anjanath, for the equipment for this beast it is mostly just you replace the colors on the weapons and armor to a white and a blue sort of glow almost to it but I couldn't tell completely, (this may also mean that the Anja Arch bow might not be useful for a anti Kirin set but they did not show us a Fulgur bow so that is still unknown). Now for the actual POWER of this monster, well we have seen it battle a Tigrex in the trailer, however in the turf war Tigrex was overpowering Fulger so I think he could match a Tigrex in "power" however more times out of ten Tigrex would come out on top. Now as for any information I missed please just reply to this post as correct me if I am incorrect, as for now I hope everyone has a good day and I hope people are as hyped as Iceborne as I am. Later!
