Piercing Black is a Master Rank Optional Quest in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
Client: Seliana Armory
I've been going bonkers thinkin' about how I can upgrade your specialized tools. You get me the materials I need and no monster will be knocking you around! (Upgrades the Rocksteady Mantle upon first completion.)
Objective
- Hunt a Tempered Black Diablos
Piercing Black Information
- Conditions: MR 17 or higher, must have sighted a MR Black Diablos, have the Rocksteady Mantle unlocked. Must complete Ice Catch!, This Here's Big Horn Country, Duet of Rime, and Trap the Thunder Jaw.
- Failure Conditions: Time expires, Faint 3 times.
- HP: 23,978 (Solo)

How to get the Piercing Black Quest
Unlocked after upgrading the Ghillie Mantle, Vitality Mantle, Iceproof Mantle and Thunderproof Mantle.
Piercing Black Notes
- The quest will not unlock if the player has never fought a Master Rank Black Diablos.
- Likes to spam the digging, wear a rocksteady mantle if you can tank the hits.

lesson learned: complete every single optional quest. seriously been sitting without this mantle for months because I didn't knew the requirements for unlocking it.

Black Diablos bullied me in High Rank, so I lifted and when we met again un MR I made sure to make him suffer... horns, tail? I broke everyrhing before I captured his ass for exhibition.

Hi guys
So I didn't know that mhw is that bugged
With 50% of the mantles quests I had problems
The quests didn't appear to me a few things I needed to do two or three times
Now this quest does the same I have every mantle + except the yellow lifesaver or I don't know what the name is I got itbut without the upgrade and the two boosters+
I am hr169 and mr144 something like that I killed black diablos one time got him on research 1 I will kill him later few more times see if that triggers him but some friends have everything the same two maybe I did even more optional quests etc and I am the only one with the problem....
This game.is really good but Capcom is doin everything to keep the time going if the would change two things we would save 50% of the time in the game just because of the loading screens

I don't know about anyone else but I upgraded the following mantles and I unlocked the quest from the chick in the armoury:
-Upgrade Vitality Mantle
-Upgrade Frost Mantle
-Upgrade Thunder Mantle
After I did those quests it became available from the chick. YMMV.

You need to get 2 diamonds and 1 stick and put the 2 diamonds on top and put the stick on the bottom THAT'S how you make a diamond sword:D

after upgrading the ghillie,vitality,ice, and thunderproof i still coudnt get it. But after i did the "QUEEN AT HEART" quest i went back to the armory girl and she gave me the piercing black quest.

I never finished the vitality mantle upgrade quest and still got this guest and upgraded it so this page needs updating. I do have the other 3 upgraded though. (Ghillie, Iceproof,& Thunderproof)

THE WAY TO ROCKSTEADY MANTLE: To get the quest unlocked you need: To upgrade ghillie mantle, upgrade vitality mantle, upgrade iceproof mantle and upgrade thunderproof mantle. Then you have to fight (not sure if you have to kill, maybe just increase research level) MR Black Diablos. You should get the quest

Quest will appear after complete "Trap the Thunder Jaw" and "Duet of Rime".

To unlock this quest you need the Rocksteady Mantle. "Must be at least HR 50 and finish the 9★ Optional Quest "A Summons from Below" to obtain the Rocksteady Mantle from The Armory."
