I prefer the full Beta variant. Sure, maybe some pieces of the Alpha are better in niche situations, but Beta is way simpler to just customize however you want.

People who say there are situation where Alpha is better beta are just plain wrong. Beta is objectively better, because every slot on beta is a level 4, equipping full beta you can put all the skills from alpha that you would be missing out on, AND some MORE and better skill to complement.
This set is very poorly designed, it's the only armor in the game where all 5 pieces are mathematically always better than their alpha counter part. it makes you wonder why there are even two versions. As or those who believe alpha is better because it has level 3 slots, I think you will be happy to learn that in a jewel slot you can put any jewel of a lower level, so all those level 4 slots can take your level 3 jewels...
Also this set destroys basically any other set as well, the only reason not to use it is if there is an other set skill (that is NOT a "secret" skill) that you want. It's completely broken. Crapcom really dropped the ball with world's fatalis.

The funny thing is almos every materials need you can plunderblade out (only the wing but you can ez break it with lighbowgun + 3 partbreak), the eye is 1% so good luck hunter. I not a good hunter so i use it, drop all i need it first 2h only the eye need 4h more to get it drop.

I use the chest piece Dragonhide α while the rest of my armor is from the β-set line so that I can slot in a cooling jewel in my armor whilegetting that extra point of Evade Window. Its purpose is fighting Teostra and Lunastra.

I will make the Alpha set because it looks amazing and it has great skills. I don't really care if the beta set is better because it has more slots. My opinion both sets are very good which armor set you get depends in your playstyle. :)

Wow, way to make the rest of the armor in game useless...but to be fair the games dead now so its kinda cool for the fact alone to make your character one last hoorah of overpowered stats and skills before the next game comes out. So the timing on this armor was brilliant if anything.

Ok I wonder why no one has typed in the comment yet but I'll go first. This alpha is absolutely tremendously amazing! I have never seen an alpha armkr set with 6, level 4 slots! I'm gonna cry in happiness. I'mma craft this first then the beta. I know the beta is waaaaaaay more awesome with the slots but I want to get all the skill that this armor set provides
