The Name's Lavasioth! is an Event Quest in Monster Hunter World (MHW). Event Quests are rotating events on a weekly schedule, but this specific quest was introduced for the Appreciation Fest and might only return during that fest, much as The Greatest Jagras

Yo, we got asked to research a monster that no one ever wants to research! You know the one, that big floppy fishy that likes to lounge around in the lava! Yeah, THAT one! (Special Ticket Reward) - Excitable A-Lister, Client

The Name's Lavasioth! Information

  • Conditions: HR 50 or Higher
  • Failure Conditions: Time expires, Faint 3 times.
  • Objective: Defeat Tempered Lavasioth

This special quest makes hunters face off against a Tempered Lavasioth, capable of one or two-shotting even experienced and well-geared opponents. If attempting solo, it is best to come prepared with the Temporal Mantle and to bring along tools such as Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, etc - as they will make your battle much easier.

This Lavasioth will drop Feystones for Decorations when it emerges from the lava and when it spits it's powerful magma ball attack, so make sure to pick up all dropped shinies. Avoid killing this monster quickly so it can drop the feystones. Alternatively, if players are just hunting for the warped feystones, pop a lucky voucher and kill him asap.

This was both a lot easier and a lot more boring than the greatest Jagras, if you recruit a Gajalaka and a Gastodon, Lavasioth will be too busy going for them and your Palico and leave you a lot of opportunities to attack (if you can destroy its hardened magma, that is).
