Meowlotov Cocktail is a Palico Gadget in Monster Hunter World (MHW).
Allows Palico to throw bombs at monsters
How to get Meowlotov Cocktail
Before you can get this gadget, you’ll need to have all five other gadgets. You’ll also need to reach the Elder’s Recess.
This Palico Gadget is obtained by completing the Grimalkyne tribes (Gajalaka) sidequest in Elder's Recess. Talk to the Lynian Researcher in Astera near the front gate(or if you have completed the first few quests of Iceborne to establish Seliana, you will need to head to Seliana and talk to him at the command tent), he'll have you find 10 Gajalaka doodles given to you in form of a research bounty around the New World. Once you find enough return to him and he'll spend time studying the doodles before having another quest available for you. Go to the Elder's Recess and speak to the Lynian Researcher in Area 8 at night. You'll then have to sneak past the Gajalaka either with high stealth armor or wait until they're dancing and move past until you reach a hole in the wall. Enter the hole and wait out the cutscene. NOTE: If you continue through the area where you get the Meowlotov you will reach Area 16, a possible campsite.
Leveling for Meowlotov Cocktail
Level 1: Meowlotov Assault- Throws a grenade doing Blast damage
Level 5: Rath of Meow- Converts the Palico Slinger's ammo into Meowlotovs
Level 6: On-Demand Meowlotov Assault
Level 10: On-Demand Rath-of-Meow
Level 15: Mewocano unlocks at Lv.11 usable at Lv.15/ The palico holds something like fireworks dealing great damage between 50-100 for multiple times
Notes for Meowlotov Cocktail
When you place a Bomb, your Palico will too(need level if any)
Your Palico's equipped weapon's properties, element/status/elderseal, carry over to the Meowlotov

Still can't get the stupid sidequest to trigger... It's literally the only thing from base game I still haven't gotten besides the food ingredient that is unlocked after this (Gajalaka shortcut to get to the closed off area next to Nergi's sleeping area). Anyone has any ideas on what I could do? Really want the fireworks... Talking to him in Seliana doesn't work either.

guys if ur stuck not receiving any quests from lynian researcher for doodles quest, he might be relocated to seliana, talk to him there. what I did: talk to lynian researcher in forest, he taught me to meet him in seliana, after talk to him in seliana he gave me the quest

I didn't even stealth the area. I literally went in, killed all the Gajalakas, and completed the bounty.

Will your Bombardier skill increase the damage of this gadget, or atleast the bomb your palico will set beside your own?

When you set down a barrel bomb, your palico will also set a Meowlotov next to it. Proof:

Meowlotov Cocktail carries your cat's equipped weapon's properties. Because of this, it can be used to inflict elemental damage, status effects, and even Elderseal. This will effectively allow you to use sleep on Kirin, an elderdragon highly resistant to paralysis/poison, and be able to get in damage where it otherwise might not be possible. Because of this, it is a highly overlooked weapon due to its hidden mechanics, and can prove incredibly effective within a solo hunt.
how i did it:
1. go afk next to the door
2. take a piss
3. come back realising that you are being bonked by gajalaka
4. go in the door anyway
5. free grenade
