Nice quest to farm with buddies post 100 for decos. Specially good with Sticky BowGun with Slugger 3. With some Luck Rajang won't even get up after the first Stun.

I used the frostfang Spread 3 lbg with attack boost 6, agitator 7 and with everything else invested into comfort I finished this quest in 15 minutes without a single cart. And didn't even need to soften or mount the target. I could do it with even less time but I like luxury skills.

My advice as a casual who once beat him solo and only took 2 hits: Bow, evade window + extender and your kitty friend are the best and most fun way to fight him. Oh, and you'll need to memorise and be able to recognise each of his moves and find effective ways to dodge them. I love Rajang because there isn't a lot of BS involved. It's a simple dodge or die situation and his moves are rapid and fierce, yet still completely dodge-able.

Surprisingly enough, solo SA is very good for this quest. I recommend running rocksteady & temporal mantles w/ divine blessing & tool specialist on level 5 and maxed out power prolonger, and don't forget to eat moxie since it'll save you trouble and allow you to go for more greedy plays with ZSD. So basically wait for rajang to pull off punishable moves (beam, body slam, projectiles or hand slam projectiles...) get a few hits with your sword, amp up and wear one of your mantles and discharge spam, if you see him rajang try to grab you through rocksteady, cancel the ZSD early not to get punished. When sword phial wears out, do the same thing however rotate to temporal mantle, when he gets exhausted go for a wall slam for some juicy damage and try to get a mount (if you're lucky you can get 2 discharges during 1 mount). And don't even bother with wounds since you'll never get a chance to do them, make sure to sword attacks only during his powered up arms state to avoid getting deflected.

I assume this quest returned I never even knew this was a thing im going to grind this later and abuse the tickets.
That was a ****ing pain 3 faints 30min and I was out of everything including the 10 Max from Mushroomancer. The 4 from Chest and all the Mega Pots. Luckily aerial IG gives you some breathing room as most attacks, except the 5 thunder bolts thingies he spits will miss. Additionally his Mounting Threshold is really low (65>175>285>395>505>615>725) so 3 mounts shouldnt be too hard.

You can get quite a bit of astral tickets especially if you use the x2 rewards daily bonus. Rajang is tough but with 5 carts you can proc fortify to help you. I recommend solo or with 2 people.

Has anyone else been getting a LOT more rajang hearts from carving this boy? I’ve gotten like 5 hearts in four quests

can't find the quest. is completing the special assignment for furious Rajang a prerequisite?

You know, this is one of those fights where people cart so fast and furiously that you don't even get mad, you kind of just laugh at the insanity.

I carted only once in this fight because of three things. One, the Shieldspire, if you don't use your palico at all and you're struggling just upgrade the shieldspire and boom almost all the aggro from FR will be drawn to the stooge. Two was divine blessing, which I can't praise enough for saving my behind twice when FR did the roar slam, it still took away 2/3 of my health with health boost 3 and mostly less augmented equipment (around 925 defense). And 3 was bow, bow being the one choice I had to fight it, I couldn't use a camp because of special arena so sticky or spread bowguns became temporary use until I ran out, and bow allowed to keep range from his punches that do chonky damage. If you are going to do this fight eat for safeguard unless you read his moves 7 centuries ahead.
