Heavy bowgun’s wyvernsnipe works WONDERS on Shara’s head. Using wyvernsnipe and some pretty basic ammo with partbreaker 2 I managed to break the scalp off before he even reached third phase. Wyvernsnipe is also great for chipping off his armor in 1st phase and generally knocking him down and stunning him. Just be careful because the shield doesn’t work on his sonic attacks and you need to get a good head-on shot with wyvernsnipe.

hunted 14 sharas and got both head breaks only once and carved it for 2 tenderplates. I ended up with around 10-12 gems.
I had partbreaker 3, attack boost 7 and used Deep Schnegel II.

Just spent 20 minutes in a solo Shara fight, with Greatsword decked with Partbreaker 3. Literally didn't do ANY damage, spend the whole fight Clutch Clawing > Attack or just hitting the head when I saw the chance, with a wallbang every time it was up. Broke the head once, but not the second time. Now tell me, why a partbreaker 3 GS with 0 damage to anything but the head is unable to get 2 breaks in a 20 minute fight? What a ridiculous joke, counting that it's needed for a lot of things.

1st: why make the chance of getting it so low if 2 are neccesary for each weapon? 2nd: why make a randoms quest like xeno if you need to farm a couple of a weird material? Shara is only fun the first time and only the first time. If any dlc adds more gear that requires tenderplate, i swear ill found a way to hack the material, it gets boring waiting for the quest to show up (Sorry for the salt, but i have slayed 12 sharas and only two got the second break and only one tenderplate was dropped :/)

Was using insect glaive, ice one from velkhana. doesn't really matter. Partbreaker at lvl 3. On the second phase focus ONLY the head the whole time hitting everything else as little as possible. On the second time I saw "parts broken" pop up after only whacking his head I saw a chunk of his head on the floor, skinned it for 2 tenderplates

If you don't manage to break Shara's head twice to get the guaranteed carve (understandable, the second break is an enormous amount of its max HP as part damage) you can rarely obtain one Tenderplate as a standard Quest Reward if you broke Shara's head once. The droprate is Gem-tier however, and you only get one roll for a head-break quest reward, so it can take dozens of one-break kills before you see one appear as a quest reward.

This tenderplate drop is pretty much non-existent for me, have yet to see one of them in close to thirty fights, while each time making sure to break the head twice. Everyone keeps saying you have to carve the scalp when it drops off her head or something but it just does not show up anywhere in my game. Nothing on minimap, no notifications, nothing on screen, nothing period. It's extremely frustrating beyond words since i have 50 of every other part and like 10 gems but not one friggin' tenderplate. Anyone have a similiar issue or is it something i'm not doing?

Using switch axe witch part breaker 3 and I can't get the second break before killing him...

Second break will cause a piece of his head/(horn?) to fall off. it will be on the ground. you can check the map to see where it is

What indicates a 2nd head break? I’ve done a dozen of these and only got 2 from the first 1. His eyes are exposed and he has black cracks all over his face. What else?

To the editor: please update that you need to have two head breaks to get a tender plate and it you get this 100% of the time. Ive farmed this 6 times already. You get two tender plates everytime
