Moonlight Gekko is an Endemic Life creature in Monster Hunter World (MHW). These animals are found out in the field, and can be captured by dedicated Hunters looking to research the New World.
A rare lizard whose brightmoss diet causes its tail to glow, a trait is uses to lure in prey.
Location
You can find Moonlight Gekko in:
- Rotten Vale, sector 11 after you jump down from camp it can be above the brightmoss, sector 13 next to the Lump of Meat behind a branch wall
- Elder's Recess, sector 8 right near the camp site above the brightmoss, sector 7 rarely spawns among the Gloom Gekko (above the brightmoss) south of the cavern with the crystalburst
Capturing Rewards
You can capture Moonlight Gekko by using the infinite item "capture net" then aiming for the creature with the control's trigger and pressing Square on your controller when the outline of the frame turns orange.
- House placing: Carpet, Floor, Hearth, Entryway, Garden, Tree, Column
- Other rewards: 220 RP

So I’ve found them and I can conform dawn or dusk by the central camps bright moss

i found 2 prism hercudromes looking for this little guy. I SPENT 8 HOURS LOOKING FOR JUST 1 hercudrome, and then i find 2 looking for a less rare critter

doesnt need to be at night, make sure to eat the rare endemic food when you reach iceborne content

Spawned in Elder's Recess sector 8 camp right above brightmoss .. at day. What's more funny is that when i just ported there it wasn't there, so it spawned while i was walking around looking for other things.

"sector 7 rarely spawns among the Gloom Gekko south of the pit with the crystalburst" Now, where the hell is this supposed to be??? Cave with crystalbursts is sector 8, higher is sector 9 ... sector 7 is on the left, and there's no crystalburst

He spawns on the Lump of Meat inside of Odogorans best. Recommend going at night.
got in daytime behind lump of meat... didn't even see it, just aimed below the brightmoss and the net reticle turned orange lmao
