Goldenfish is an Endemic Life creature in Monster Hunter World (MHW). These animals and insects are found out in the field, and can be captured by dedicated Hunters looking to research the New World.
Golden-scaled cave-dwellers, they'll hightail it if you wiggle your bait! They also like to nibble before taking a real bite, so don't get duped!
Location
You can find Goldenfish in:
- Coral Highlands, sector 14
- Rotten Vale, sector 15 can catch seven in one passage
- Rotten Vale, sector 9, sector 10, sector 15
- Elder's Recess, sector 8 inside the camp
- Wildspire Waste, sector 6, in the pool in the Central Camp
- Hoarfrost Reach, sector 8
- The Guiding Lands, sector 10
Capturing Rewards
You can capture Goldenfish by using the fishing rod and pressing O at the right time.
- House placing: Pond
- Other rewards: 30 RP, Golden Scale (150RP, Golden Scale+)

- Target of the Research Help: Goldenfish Capture critical bounty in the Rotten Vale, need to capture 1 of them after receiving the bounty.

AnonymousRight where you receive the quest from researcher, use your net throw it into the water to stir fishes up, they will then scared off and grouped at the waterfall, then just randomly throw your net there (PROJECTILE-ly so the net can reach there AND DONT JUMP DOWN, you can not catch anything with bet if you are down there). I personally get everything in the pond after 3 throw including this

I managed to get 8 of these in one run in rotten vale. One is at the little pond right after jumping down from the camp.

Can confirm they appear in area 8 Elder's Recess. Just caught a platinum and a goldfish there. Left side pond by the tent.
Is the smallest crown actually 98.33 or the 99.58 size...
