Gunpowderfish is an Endemic Life creature in Monster Hunter World (MHW). These animals and insects are found out in the field, and can be captured by dedicated Hunters looking to research the New World.
Watchout - Their bodies contain the same substances as Devil's Blight! They're hard to spot, but they react noticeably to moving bait.

You can find Gunpowderfish in:
- Coral Highlands, sector 6, sector 7
- Rotten Vale, sector 9
- Elder's Recess, sector 8 in the Eastern Camp
- Hoarfrost Reach, sector 15 in the Camp
- The Guiding Lands, sector 7, 10
Capturing Rewards
You can capture Gunpowderfish by using the fishing rod and pressing O at the right time.
- House placing: Pond
- Other rewards: 22RP, Gunpowderfish Scale (170RP, Great Gunpowderfish Scale if Great Size)

Found them in Elders Recess Eastern Camp. Look in the water behind the tent, they look like small brown/black fish with yellow eyes. Also if you look further left theres a platinum fish.

To anyone trying to catch the giant version of this fish to finish out all the endemic life, it does spawn at all the zones listed above though the chance is stupidly rare. Id say at least 10 times more rare than any other creature on the list. It took me 507 regular fish before I finally saw one and that's not counting the ones I didn't feel like catching. So if you've been trying to complete your crafting menu or unlock the endemic life background and haven't seen this fish spawn in hundreds of attempts, its just stupidly rare because apparently Capcom loves punishing completionists.
