Tempered monsters in Monster Hunter World (MHW) are special creatures found in special quests. These monsters deal more damage and have more health than their High Rank versions. Arch-Tempered monsters deal more damage and have more health than their Tempered versions.

Players will find Tempered tracks while exploring, but will not see the associated monster until they go into their investigations. Scout Flies will show Tempered monster tracks the same color as if they were tracking an Elder Dragon.

  • Tempered monsters (purple Aura) still have the same attacks and movement paths as Low and High Rank versions in their respective areas.
  • Arch-Tempered Monsters (orange Aura) have the same attacks with usually one or more different attacks. Generally have more health and damage.
  • Tempered and Arch-Tempered monsters, Except Elder Dragons, can be captured
  • See the Event Quests List for Arch-Tempered Monster quests.
  • Special Equipment can be obtained from completing Arch-Tempered quests, such as unlocking Layered Armor or obtaining materials for crafting the "Gamma" version of some Armor Sets.

Just cleaning out my investigations, and I can say that tempered threat levels make no sense.
It seems like the HR ones are relatively standardized. All of my HR T2 requirements are HR 30, and HR T3 requirements are HR 50.
The MR Tempered threat levels are all over the place. I have MR Tempered T1 investigations that range from requiring MR 6 to MR 100, meanwhile I have MR T2 investigations that have a requirement of MR 17.

anyone able to add the HR requirements for each tempered threat level?
honestly, basically the fundamental base information is entirely missing from all pages relating to tempered monsters...
thanks to that i was basically wasting hours on gathering tempered tracks before i was even able to get any investigations for them in the first place -.-"

when I fought tempered monsters such as anjanath and bazelgeuse, I didn't notice any changes to the tempered versions of themselves to the original ones

what is the difference between fighting tempered and arch tempered monsters, why would I want to fight arch tempered of tempered??

some tips for those trying to farm streamstones and spiritvein gems: - you cannot farm streamstones from any tempered master rank monsters so stick to high rank tempered monsters if trying to obtain these - you can only obtain spiritvein variants from tempered monsters in the guiding lands, tempered investigations will not give you any (some event exclusive quests give you it e.g. event quest “Ode to the Destruction” for a Great Spiritvein Gem) - High Rank Tempered Monsters: Lvl 1 = Streamstone Shard Lvl 2 = Streamstone Lvl 3 = Gleaming Streamstone - Master Rank Tempered Monsters (Guiding Lands): Lvl 1 = Spiritvein shards, Lvl 2 = Spiritvein Gems Lvl 3 = Great Spiritvein Gems
