True Critical Element is a Skill in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (MHW:IB). This skill is activated by Set Bonus: Silver Rathalos Essence.
True Critical Element Effect
True Critical Element has only 1 level:
Level 1: Greatly increases Elemental Damage (Fire, Water, Thunder, Ice, Dragon) when landing critical hits
Critical hits granted by Affinity normally only affect Raw (Physical) Damage and not elemental damage. With this skill active, elemental damage will be increased by critical hits as well.
Elemental critical hits have a different multiplier depending on the weapon. These are the values for True Critical Element:
- 1.70x: Greatsword, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Heavy Bowgun
- 1.55x: Longsword, Dual Blades, Sword and Shield, Charge Blade, Switch Axe, Lance, Gunlance, Insect Glaive, Bow
- 1.40x: Light Bowgun
Using True Critical Element will override Critical Element if present on the set (e.g. on Kjárr weapons).
Equipment that grants this skill
True Critical Element is a bonus skill obtained by
Silver Rathalos Essence: Equipping any 4 pieces of the following equipment:
- Silver Sol Alpha + Armor Set or Silver Sol Beta + Armor Set
- Azure Age Alpha + Armor Set
- Any Safi'jiiva weapon awakened with the Silver Rathalos Essence

Interestin decision to make between this and Safi 3p/5p. Too bad they are mutually exclusive. Even if you put Silver Rathalos Essense on your safi weaon you still need 3 armor pieces and only 2 are left. Not enough to reach Safi 3p bonus. However, Safi 3p + Critical Element (standard) is easily achievable. Question is, does the elemental bonus and affinity from Safi 3p plus the crit boost of standard Crit Element outweigh Silver Rathalos? Personally I do not like Safi set a lot (as a melee) because dangerous hits are much more likely to OTK you while you're in your health loss rota. I bet some genius has already compared the 2 options. I wouldn't be surprised if Silver Rath loses to Safi 3p + Velkh 2p.

Did testing on bow and the multi seemed to be only 1.4 or 1.45 on pc (1.31-1.49 when taking possible rounding errors into account) and corresponding CE seemed to be 1.25 or 1.3 (1.16-1.32). While bow is still good, the elem increase in iceborne gives about 10% increase compared to base game without nerfs and TCE gives another 10% to all elemental weapons, which is underwhelming when raw and unnerfed element scale up by 25-35%. Without silver rath and augmented sticks there is no reason to use bow in iceborne and even then 1/3-1/2 of dmg increase that you see actually comes from Crit Boost. Seen those bull*****comparisons that just compare set without CB to silverlos and oh great TCE increases damage by 20%.

Extremely potent boost to elemental damage! The set comes with Crit Boost to improve the physical part of the damage too.

I know Crit Element worked with Crit Boost but does True Crit Element work with Crit Boost as well?

I wonder if it is worth it to go for 4 pieces of Rath instead of 2 from Velkhana
Someone should add that the azure age set gives you true crit elem too and can be mixed with silver los, so you can mix and match to get better skills
